I wanted to dump my ROMFS of a few Games to use on an Emulator. I wanted to use NXDumpTool with the Homebrew menu to do so. Would I get banned?

Side question: I wanted to remove HB afterwards, I've heard I'd have to COMLETELY clean out my Switch, how can I make backups for games?

Will this remove the CFW? That's what I want to do, while keeping my save data from games.

Restoring NAND backup will restore the state to the point to when you make backup of your games, restore the NAND would just put it back to the state you were before using CFW, it does have to match when you were previously online or you probably will get banned.

You have to make a NAND backup prior to romfs dumping, and then restore after rom dumping.
What is this bullshit? nxdumptool is working in read-only mode with NCAs using custom functions to mount them and extract files. It leaves no footprint on NAND.

There is no need to make nand backups for dumping romfs.
You won't get banned for it.

Loading atmosphere just to dump romfs also won't get you banned.

If you just want just:
1. load atmosphere
2. dump romfs
3. unload atmosphere

You don't need to make any backups. Such bullshit as cleaning your NAND is only targeted at pirates, online cheaters and modders

Cleaning in this situation is a very hypochondriac way of thinking (if there is a 0.00000000001% chance that I get banned, I should be cautious)

Homebrew has low chance of getting a ban, if OP wanted to be 100% safe then he should use a NAND backup, it doesn't hurt to make a backup.

Making a backup doesn't hurt. But making and restoring each time they want to dump romfs is an overkill.

And homebrew has so low chance that SciresM v1 unit is still not banned since first Atmosphere release.

There is always a risk of getting banned when hacking a console. And if you want to remove homebrew afterwards, you have to restore a clean eMMC backup made before running homebrew. Backup your games before restoring your clean eMMC backup.
