any ps3 usb dongle can jailbreak the PS3 with open source drivers, and apparently the ps3 dwongrade has been leaked and will be open sourced also
recently, someone enabled the ability to play on PSN with the jailbreak, everyone is assuming Sony will ban these people, so if you care about your account, don't do it (btw the PS3 tracks what you do even when offline)
and i have no idea about the iPhone, but it does work on a heck of a lot of devices

As of November 18th 2010, Sony protected the PSN access from jailbroken PS3.
It seems no account has been banned, it's just closed to outdated firmware. If you update (and loose the jailbreak ability), your PSN account is accessible again.
The PSDowngrade data sent to the PS3 is encrypted (SHA-1) and I guess it will need more time before an open source downgrade will be release.
The PSJailbreak team said the downgrade is a ONE TIME process only. Maybe the console can not be downgraded again later. It's maybe an aggressive method which modify an internal fuse, or anything like that, and it could be detected by Sony. We just don't know yet, it's too early to say anything.
About the iPhone, only 2G and 3G are currently supported. 3GS and 4G are not compatible yet.
