Hacking what does patch vs clean do in SCDS2 ?

i have a supercard ds 2. when using ds roms on the card after pressing the Y button on DS theres an option to select clean or patched.

does anybody know whats the difference and does it have any effect on battery life ?

Clean mode runs it as though it were the original cart. In clean mode you cannot use the enhanced menu. All games run in patched mode by default allowing for the enhanced menu to use cheats, guide and so on.
