Hi, I had an issue with the saving on my EZ Flash Omega Definitive Edition when used in standalone mode and would like help knowing what I did wrong

- Experienced problems with game (glitching/freezing) when booting directly from rom. Rom is apparently from a clean source.
- Wrote rom to NOR flash and put cart in standalone mode. Game was working without errors.
- Used the in-game save and was taken back to menu but there was no save.

After this I put the cart back into flash mode but this time booted the game from the NOR menu. After doing this saves work, and loading the cart back up in standalone mode seems to have working saves as well.

Did I miss an important step when writing to the NOR and then changing to standalone cart mode? Should the game have been booted through the NOR menu first enable saving before using it as a standalone cartridge? Would love to know thank you!

If encountered random freeze issue. please upgrade kernel and firmware to the newest version(it indeed remove random freeze issue).
if random freeze still happening, maybe your console was modded screen, please consider voltage regulator or battery.

About the NOR game mode A/B toggle. it has an enough explain in the manual. mode B(Nor standalone) needs manual backup(load) save file by user.

incase you don't know where is the manual. here is it. https://www.ezflash.cn/omegade-en.pdf

I will read the manual more carefully, and it was my fault I did not understand. Thank you for clarifying.

Regarding random freeze issue, I am using FW:4 K:1.03

I am running it on a PAL Gamecube with Game Boy Player. The console is unmodded and using the game boy player disc. The micro SD is a new sandisk ultra 32gb.

Please let me know if I can provide anything more useful. Cheers.

hmm.... An unexpected platform.

Sorry, we have not tested our product on this platform yet, so it is not listed in the compatibility list on our product page, if you still have problems with subsequent use, you can contact your dealer for a return.

Thanks for your reply.

Just for your feedback, I have only had the random freezes, and a sprite glitch, when playing games from the rom directory.
No problems yet running games written to NOR. I will test more and keep the cart if running off NOR keeps working.

If you ever add support I would love to know. It's an interesting way to stream GBA games.
