When I transferred from PC to Switch a while back, I had both games on the same version but it kept black screening. Remember to start your game on PC if you haven't played in a while, so it can update the save file to the new version and save again.
thank youDid you try returning the switch save to the PC? They seem to be encrypted now.
EDIT: It's less encryption, and more compression. For anyone wanting to do the save file transfer now, there is a tool to de/re-compress the save file in this thread:

Help please:
1) which exact files i need to transfer into sdcard? only "Name_XXXX" or all including "BACKUP_SAVE" "SaveGameInfo"?
2) and before that, should i compress them or DEcompress?
2.1) all files or only some of them (which)?
Adding to Eapzy's reply, the Switch savedata is zlib compressed. On Linux, the zlib-flate command can be used to decompress the file. The command is this:
zlib-flate -uncompress < compressedfilename > outputfilename
I renamed the compressed file to "compressed" and outputted it as the original name of my save file.
zlib-flate -uncompress < compressed > Human_258148161
I don't know how you would do this on Windows/MacOS. There are probably online decompressors out there.
Could you explain better? I have the same problem as you. Should I remove the line breaks in the compressed or decompressed file? How do you do?I know this is an old thread but thought my experience today could help someone…After copying it over from my PC to my Switch I was able to see my save file when I loaded the game but it would crash. Took me a while to figure out but when it gets decompressed the software removes all the line breaks in the save file, so I opened it up in with a xml editor and removed all the line breaks and made it a jumbled run on sentence mess and it worked!
