I'm basically just looking for an easy way to switch between the emunand and sysnand without entering back into rcm to inject a payload.(while keeping the sysnand clean to not get banned from online)
I thought it would be easy but I can't find a recent answer for that.

I was using hekate and atmosphere.

Depends if you use CFW on both.
If you are using OFW on Sysnand then it only works in one direction (CFW->OFW).
Basicly you need to configure the Tesla menu for atmosphere so you can use the plugin below.
https://gbatemp.net/threads/tesla-the-nintendo-switch-overlay-menu.557362/

And then install and configure fast-CFW-switch:
https://github.com/Hartie95/fastCFWswitch

How it works:
The plugin triggers a soft restart like atmosphere when the console crashes/reboots. It launches Hekate with parameters so Hekate knows what to boot. And thats it.

You can't but you can use launch a specific payload from Atmosphere. If you launch hekate with you can pick what to boot from there.

https://github.com/suchmememanyskill/Payload_Launcher

Can that be used from a sysnand that uses OFW?
-My goal is not to get banned from online so I want to keep that one clean.

It will probably be OFW. I'm trying to keep that side clean. I'm just trying to find an easy way to switch between the two without going back to rcm.

Do those files allow to go more than just one way/ (from clean sysnand to emunand)?

I'm still pretty new to these things so I'm not fully familiar.

Not on stock, you have no access to homebrew, it is a homebrew.

I had used homebrew guide to have sysmmc and emummc partitions.
I still don't quite understand at what point the sysmmc is using CFW instead of stock, and at what point it can be detected by nintendo.

Stock is just non CFW, if you run CFW on sysmmc that is sysnand it share the same NAND, if the NAND is dirty from pirated games, homebrew, you can possibly get a ban.

I don't even know how to run cfw on sysmmc...

Well you're saying there's only a way to switch between, it's with cfw, right?
So is there a way to run cfw on sysnand and everything being clean except for a way to switch back to the emunand, or back to hekate to select the emunand, without it counting as homebrew that coudl get my switch banned?

You can go CFW > Stock but not Stock > CFW without injecting the payload. Running any sort of homebrew or CFW on your SysNand could lead to bans so best not to do that. CFW is usually not enough for a ban but sometimes it is. If you don't want to get banned, don't risk it because of a minor inconvenience.

'Stock but not Stock' would count as cfw?

If there's no way to do it without there being a risk, and I don't want to risk it, then I may instead consider buying a dongle in the future, with auto-rcm. It's just I don't like the idea of using auto-rcm, but I would do this option if there's no easier way to switch between.

Sorry if that was a little unclear. I'm using > as a arrow. CFW > Stock means CFW to Stock,

Ok. so how could someone go from cfw to stock, and from it to cfw? (without injecting the payload)

Edit: nvm, I think I understand how you phrased it now.

I appreciate the info everyone. I will probably take the usual route and use auto-rcm and a dongle for ease if I can find one.

@Tomato123 I'm just wondering something, but what's your take on how to update firmware if someone can't use cfw like atmosphere safely? Up to now I've burned my fuses, but wondering how someone might do it without burning them, but also not risking.

I don't see why it would be a problem to burn fuses if you are using stock. There is a way to do it using some software that gives you write access to the SysNand but I don't remember what it was called. Maybe TegraExplorer or something?

I don't see it as a problem too, but a lot of people seem to want to preserve their fuses.

I just want to use both sysnand and emunand, Using stock right now because my sd card slot isn't working (going to fix it once i get the parts). I was just thinking for the future if there'd be a good reason to be able to downgrade. I still don't know if I'd need to.

You can run mostly stock OFW with a separate Hekate launch entry and be able to reboot into CFW more easily but it's not recommended as there is a higher ban risk, the risk is still small but it's not 0%.
But there are many people that run setups like this on 4.1.0 iPatched Switches, since you can't update the stock OFW, the only way to have an updated OFW for online and legit games is using a second emuNAND. My brother has a setup like that since 2 years (I hacked it for him) and isn't banned yet but he doesn't really have any other option, I don't recommend it just to save a few seconds on injecting.

Fair enough. I won't have to ask how to do that since it seems better to go the safer way.
I just thought there'd be an easy way to reboot to hekate from whatever firmware. Guess not.

Thanks in any case. helps narrow down.
