sysmmc, sysnand, emunand, emummc.... i'm confused because i don't know what these abbrevations mean.
sorry i don't want to make many spamposts, is there a wiki that explains these technical terms? i can read it myself.

is there no way to reset everything so nintendo can't detect anything or is not even worth trying?

Yes ok. I just saw both options were separate (ofw and another option for sysmmc), so I assumed ofw was for booting without anything at all, while sysmmc could have something if wanted.

In that case, i dont know how someone boots atmosphere with the sysmmc to prevent burning fuses.

{--- Custom Firmware ---}
[CFW (SYSNAND)]
emummc_force_disable=1
fss0=atmosphere/fusee-secondary.bin
atmosphere=1
logopath=bootloader/bootlogo.bmp
icon=bootloader/res/icon_payload.bmp
{}

[CFW (EMUMMC)]
emummcforce=1
fss0=atmosphere/fusee-secondary.bin
atmosphere=1
logopath=bootloader/bootlogo.bmp
icon=bootloader/res/icon_payload.bmp
{}

{--- Stock ---}
[Stock (SYSNAND)]
emummc_force_disable=1
fss0=atmosphere/fusee-secondary.bin
stock=1
icon=bootloader/res/icon_switch.bmp
{}

Let use this as example, so CFW( Sysnand) that is CFW on Sysnand, while Stock is without CFW on Sysnand, and Emummc is just the emulated emmc for emunand, you can use a custom bootloader to boot stock so it prevent fuse burn, if you boot sysnand without a custom bootloader it burn your fuse, as for updating via Nintendo server, if you let it finish updating and reboot without going to a custom bootloader the fuse get burned.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

sysmmc, sysnand, emunand, emummc.... i'm confused because i don't know what these abbrevations mean.

Only if you have a clean NAND if you ran CFW on Sysnand which is the same NAND as your OFW.

i remember backing up some things when i installed cfw, though the question is if i still know where those files are stored because it was some years ago. it was on a very low firmware in 2018 i think.

Have you been online since then? Because if you'd use a backup and nintendo already has your new data then you'd get banned for the shift back

If you can find it you can take a look with NxNandManager to take a look to see what firmware is the NAND backup for, and you should also check your fuse count to see if it match with your NAND backup version.

Thank you for the reply, is there a specific reason why?

One reason I didn't want to use 2 sd cards on my side is that they don't share anything between them, so any changes or saves to one won't be detected by the other. But also I learned that you have to turn off the system to change the sd card. And I don't feel like using auto-rcm for now and having to use the jig everytime sounds annoying.

Right. And I assumed OFW was the Stock without CFW. Maybe I'm wrong with that.

I already burnt my fuses, though for the future it might be useful to know .. if I update the system and reboot with bootloader.. am I then ok to later boot it without booloader, or does the console forever have to boot with bootloaders from then on or else the fuses get burnt?

You would need to use AutoRCM to preserve your fuse, if you are on 12.1.0 with 3 burn fuse, booting without autoRCM you will burn your fuse up to 15.

https://switchbrew.org/wiki/Fuses#Anti-downgrade

refer to this for firmware and fuse count.

Ok. Thanks.
I may not bother with preserving my fuses if it means I can't boot it normally (like right now I can't use any mods anyway since my sd card slot doesn't work, until i get it fixed)

Here's just something I'm wondering about auto-rcm, but from what I understand it doesn't use the sd card, so if it boots to rcm and someone's sd card fails (or the reader), is it still possible to at least boot in OFW somehow? I would wonder for CFW too, I guess.

It sounds like you have nogc enabled. Disabling this will depend if you use Hekate or fusee to launch Atmosphere. If it is Hekate, you can disable nogc from within Hekate itself. If you use fuseee instead, you will have to edit the nogc line in the bct.ini file to 0.

Title keys are used to decrypt digital-only content. Unless you're datamining or want to unpack those files on a computer, you don't really have a use for title keys. But if you still want to dump them, you can use Lockpick_RCM to do the job.
Thank you. I use hekate so ill disable that

Is it easy to remake and replace my emunand from the sysnand?

I just realized that when I get the sd slot working again, I'll want to use a new emunand that will have my saves and new games i added in the sys.

Unless there's an even easier way to transfer..

When emuMMC is initially created, it is simply a copy of sysMMC so any games and saves installed there will be copied over into emuMMC.

Yes. I want to recreate it so that it has the new games and saves I added and am playing (while I can't access my sd card.)

Wondering how to do that.

You don't need to do anything additional. Like I just said, whenever an emuMMC is created, it starts out as a copy of sysMMC. Its not created from scratch or thin air.
