The source ports you are talking about are not included because they can't auto launch the games. I've tried in multiple ways but they never auto launch, so if you managed to get them working can you please post your argument line?

For your information, the Hexen and Heretic Wii ports by Arikado work fine and load automatically without any issue through Wiiflow. Cf. my earlier posting in which I've packaged those ports to be inserted in your plugins pack, if you're intested in it (https://gbatemp.net/threads/the-gre...l-for-adventurers.563575/page-31#post-9529112).

Pay attention to: through Wiiflow, those ports work from SD only, whatever Wiiflow is installed on SD or USB.

I'm really sorry, I missed your post. I thought Wii-hexen and Wii-heretic by nitr8 were the only source ports available, but now I see I was wrong.
Thank you so much for the great help you're giving!
I'm slowly incorporating all the things you reported and then I'll release rev7.
Please don't hesitate to give other advices, they are very useful to me.

Quake II plays great although it has a drift issue on my Classic Controller Pro works fine on my non Pro model though. Cheers!

Thanks to Q2Rev application, you may also play Quake II using the IR of your wiimote, which is pretty cool. To do so, just play Quake II using the wiimote and the nunchuk, and while playing, press and hold button A. And then, just move using the wiimote cursor. I really like this way of playing Quake II.

I'm trying Heretic and Hexen but I can't say I'm enjoying the controls at all.
The games perform really good, but controls also feel very unfinished
That's too bad, I was really hoping to play them on the Wii:(

I find button mappings on the Classic Controller to have a really unpractical key displacement.
You can't turn and shoot together for example, because to turn you have to use the right stick, so your thumb can't press the shoot button (Y) anymore. Same thing if you want to run and turn simultaneously, unless you do the spider. You cannot seriously play this way. The triggers button would have been a much better solution to run and shoot.
The thing is that controls can't be remapped (I've only tried heretic but I believe it's the same with Hexen). If you try to remap, the old mappings won't be erased, so they will conflict with the new ones. Luckily they will reset to defaults each time you reboot the app.

I've tried with the Wiimote + Nunchuck combo and at first it seemed to be the perfect way to play it. But then I've noticed that there's an extremely little deadzone, so it's sometimes difficult to hit enemies that aren't directly placed in front of you. As soon as you leave the deadzone (roughly as narrow as your 1st weapon, the pole) you'll begin to turn around and give your flank to the enemy.
You can't block the visual with A either, like you do in Quake2. Instead, pressing A toggles the strafe movement for some reason.
This also makes me feel a little dizzy after a while.
Quake GX is still the best with Wiimote+Nunchuck.

Too bad it's an old (and probably abandoned) project, because it was very promising.
Anyway, being the only source ports working with Wiiflow, I'll include them in the pack

I'm having issues with the latest Hexaeco as well. WIth Picodrive I have big slowdowns. NeoGeo VM is a hit or miss, some games are launching and some others are crashing on boot (games like Metal Slug, Iron Clad). I know my roms are good, because they run perfectly with Retroarch.

I've encountered specific Neo Geo ROMs (e.g. miexchng.zip) that work fine when booted from within RA-Hexaeco but crash when run via the Wiiflow plugin.

For my own, I’ve got two Neo-Geo plugins in my Wiiflow installation: one with RA-HEXAECO FBA 2012 Neo-Geo VM dol for large roms and roms that do not work with standard dol, and one with RA-HEXAECO FBA standard Neo-Geo dol for other roms. I’ve separated roms into two different folders ROMS/neogeo and ROMS/neogeo_vm.

Also I’ve forced the dols to use Neo-Geo UniBIOS through RA-HEXAECO options.

With the latest RA-Hexaeco, handy.dol (Atari Lynx) and mednafen-wonderswan.dol are broken for me. I do hex edit all new releases, so it is possible its just on my end. But the prior RA-Hexaeco had no problems and these two cores have been troublesome in past releases as well. Can anyone confirm this please, Thanks.

thanks but it's the 11-07-2021 version of it. And I noticed in PicoDrive core that the emulated SEGA 32X games in it goes slow (specially Knuckles' Chaotix). When will @SuperrSonic update it??

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

@Okko How you can force the dols for use the NeoGeo Uni-BIOS? for try to do it with mine

Yes, i tested PicoDrive also with the same results (slow performance). SS updates frequently, hopfully he will get Pico running as good as the official RA.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Load FBA NEO core.
Load Content > Metal Slug.
Once game loads, press Home on Wiimote.
Core Options > Neo Geo UniBIOS = enable

Sorry for going slightly off topic here but has anyone been able to play Lode Runner: The Dig Fight using any of the RetroArch Cores? It's working fine in FB Alpha as well as the specific Psikyo one (in both RetroArch and RA-HEXAECO) but it WILL NOT recognise the Start Button. It's been driving me crazy. Everything is mapped ok and it works great on everything but my Wii. Help!

@gZa what version of official RetroArch Wii (Libretro) is using? or what version of SuperrSonic's RA-HEXAECO is using?
And, have you tried using MAME 2003 Plus Core A of RetroArch (libretro or SuperrSonic's RA-HEXAECO) for your game Lode Runner: The Dig Fight?

It working in all of them I expect it to. I have the same cores as included in the rev.6 pack.

However the START button doesn't work. So I cannot start a game. So strange!

It's the same in both loderndf.zip and loderndfa.zip. Both ROMs behave as expected in RetroArch on my PC and Android devices. However the mapping for the START button doesn't register when running it on the Wii. I've double checked in the Retroarch settings to see if I'm doing anything stupid but nothing stands out, hence I'm reaching out on here!

Hopefully someone can confirm/deny if the START button is working on their Wii setup up. Else I'm going to try and bypass the START button by copying a SAVE STATE (once I've started the game) from my PC to the Wii. I'm guessing I need to have the exact same version of the FB Alpha 2012 core.

@gZa

I can confirm this issue. With FBA or Psikyo cores, credits can be added on both 1P and 2P, but the game cannot be started. Using official RA, sometimes pressing down on the D pad while pressing (-) or (+) will install credits/start a game, but no such luck here.
