Pcsx rearmed is modified for arm devices but iirc still has its PPC stuff in there somewhere :P I honestly have no clue about the audio, but Pcsx rearmed is the current upto date Core, so if Pcsx ever had Gaussian audio I guess Pcsx rearmed has it too?
Default setting on the PS Classic was set to linear (which is hot garbage) but Gaussian is what native PS hardware uses and sounds the best IMO :P

Simply grab your SD card, and download the most recent pack by date from here:
https://buildbot.libretro.com/nightly/nintendo/wiiu

Then extract the contents of that pack to your SD card, and that should be it, your RetroArch setup should be updated.

Is Pro support still broken?
Quark managed to reproduce the issue, so with that hopefully a fix might be on the way, but nothing certain yet:
Repro'd the pro controller menu thing - what I find particularly odd is that if you leave the controller in slot 2 and play a multiplayer game it seems to work fine, so it's not like RA isn't seeing the input.. odd.

Or having the default 1x resolution too.
Gotta hate love those blocky polygons, with even more rougher edges on PSX. :D
Just for fun when the Wii version of the Pcsx-rearmed Core is done and dusted I'll get my old Panasonic crt TV out of the cupboard, hook up the Wii and playthrough Megaman X4 again just like the old days :)
crt has that special magic you cant quite get on a lcd :P

Oh man that sounds delightful for sure.
I still have my Wii sitting there in the living room, but disconnected.
Still though, I only have a couple CRTs left to spare, and at this point I kinda just prefer the cleaner visuals
Growing up with astigmatism sure made me hate blurry graphics lol

Been reading up the latest and whoa!

Sounds like the pro controller issue will be fixed soon and also we’ll finally have great PSone emulation on Wii U??!!!

pinch me if I’m dreaming!

I can't wait to see if I can finally play ff7-ff9 on it (among several others, but those especially). And they can finally be played on a pro controller and not the gamepad's 4hr battery? That's a lot to check off the list.

Not to sound ungrateful for either of these overhauls, but in the description of the psx bounty, they've also mentioned the Wii U "is more than capable in running respective emulators for Nintendo 64 and Playstation (Mupen64 and PCSX-R)." Is there anywhere I can go show support for a N64 core afterwards?

I'm all up for N64 games on WiiU too.
But to my knowledge, N64 bounty for WiiU doesn't exist, at least not that I am aware of.
Not sure if @ploggy knows of any bounty currently going for it, but if it isn't, then you could create one easily in the Bounty page for RetroArch.

No, there is no N64 bounty for WiiU that I'm aware of. but I think this could open the door to other Cores that require PPC Dynarec. I wonder if m4xw would do a low effort N64 port to WiiU once the PS1 PPC dynarec is implemented? :P

Do N64 and PSX use the same dynarec?
I know both system used MIPS but I am not sure how compatible they were.

I don't think they're 100% interchangeable but like you say they are both MIPS - PPC. But I was thinking more about the fact the WiiU is difficult to get dynarec recompilation working in the first place.

Quote from embercold:
On a brighter note, the kind folks at /r/EmuDev discord pointed me to a hack that allows doing recompilation on the Wii U: basically, its GPU can be manipulated into doing writes to any memory location without restrictions. I'll continue working under the assumption that recompilation is indeed possible.

So now that that is figured out it's one less thing in the way :)
