I tried this by extracting the .love file to the game folder so that main.lua was in the folder required and received the following error.
"Oops, a Lua error has occured
Press Start to quit
./lib/gamestate.lua:84: bad argument #1 to 'pairs'
(table expected, got nil)"
I have no particular interest in seeing FNF on 3ds, but I wanted to see if an unmodified .love file could be run by Love Potion.
No idea what Love Potion is, but FNF is Free Software under an Apache License. I was planning on writing my own port of it (probably not up to the task but there's no reason I shouldn't try) and when I went searching for 3DS libraries in Haxe I was only brought here instead. Disappointing to see that so many people have the same interest and not one person has taken the effort to make it happen.
Not that it's the end of the world, I honestly don't care about this game at all, but ports just interest me. Running Q1 and Q2 on the o3DS still blows me away even if it manages only sub-30 framerates. But that's just me

It says very unlikely, fam. I knew I probably wasn't going to get anywhere; I just wanted to see if it would at least compile. I know a little bit of lua, so I wanted confirmation for myself, and after looking through the code base I can definitely say a porting job wouldn't be worth it, at least in this case.
Very unlikely usually means no, especially in the programming space. If it's too unsafe or uncertain, it's usually going to have problems. I'm sure it will work somehow, but proper tweaks are needed. This probably classifies as a port of some kind, and I'm sure its much easier than rebuilding the engine from the ground up.
An update. The creator of the PSX Port assume that their build can be easily ported to 3DS natively as it has been written in c.

FNF uses haxe and openfl so we can port openfl to 3ds
- No one is chatting at the moment.
