I believe so. Like I said, I can't remember for 100% sure. I sorta remember having to mess with some of the Apt init code. It has been a while. I didn't open an issue, because it seemed hax payloads were deemed out of date at the time.
... Well, I guess I don't think it's important enough to puzzle it out on my own. I just hope it's not too difficult for future developers to puzzle out.

(Imagine: a site that serves up Browserhax and immediately downloads JKSM, allowing complete cloud storage of save data without having to make any persistent changes to the 3DS NAND! But it seems installing CFW just isn't a big deal for most people.)

i know its been 4 years, and i know people are gonna think im an idiot, but where is the download fr the .cia on the post?
There's a link to the GitHub repo in the OP, where the .cia is hosted. Here's a direct link to the latest release; just scroll down to Assets, click JKSM.cia and the download will start.

Hi guys,

Nice to see this thread is pretty much alive:)

Here is a question for you :

I have some old sky3ds saves I did a back up of.

It gave me some .sav files.

This sky3ds of mine has been dead for a while now, I just have this back up files left.

I want to "import" those files to installed cia versions of the same games.

Any known way to do this ? Am I supposed to be able to do that with JKSM ?

Have a nice day, and thx

Assuming it's like the Gateway, then there's nothing you can do without a functional flashcart. See https://gbatemp.net/threads/importing-gateway-saves-to-cia-games.425743/ .

In theory you might be able to use save3ds, but I've never read about anyone actually doing that. (I've never heard of games "dumped from the cartridge in CCI format" or "private header dumped from the cartrdige" either.)

thx for the answer Kwyjor,
yeah, I saw these posts.
I've been playing for a while now with JKSM and SaveDataFiler. Getting nowhere yet.

I'll check where the save3ds trail you gave me leads.
thx again:)

Just curious... Does anyone with a pretty decent amount of installed games mind running this a couple times and sharing if boot time is impacted after the cache is created? I want to know if the compression impacts it all before I finish backporting switch stuff. Pretty early stuff, so don't expect to actually use it.

Edit: Also let me know if having a cart inserted messes anything up. Shouldn't cause it's almost identical, but you never know.

I guess it'd be better to post what it is, huh? I don't know if I ever shared it here and there's no way I have time to go through and find out. Years ago, I started working on this update:
JKSV_b_zps65uqp9xu.png

Unfortunately, I don't have the source code for it anymore. Even if I did, it was written around sf2d, which was discontinued shortly after I began the project and it no longer boots (I still have the CIA file). Recently, I was asked but also curious if I'd be able to backport and adapt the Switch version's UI to 3DS. This is what the 3dsx is above:

It's not usable at all, really. I'm more concerned about if it still boots fast enough. I've used zlib compression to try to keep the cache file from becoming gigantic, which I might add later to save files. I'd rather know before I spend a ton more time working on it. Thanks.

I've got about 50 titles installed, if that counts as a "decent amount."

The first boot was about 25 seconds. The second boot was about 1 or 2 seconds.

I'm new to the hacking scene, so I have no idea where to put this. Where exactly would I install the files on my SD card?
To be clear, are you referring to the 3DS version? Because if you want to run this on your 3DS, you will need to install CFW first.*

There is no shortage of information regarding CFW on this board. You are advised to steer clear of Youtube videos, as many of them are outdated and inaccurate; http://3ds.guide is reliably up-to-date.

*There are other exploits for accessing the Homebrew Launcher, though such exploits are poorly-supported, limited, and largely antiquated at this point. But they are worth mentioning in that they are easily removed if you have very specific needs and want to have as little to do with the "hacking scene" as possible.

I actually used 3ds guide, and I went through putting all of that on my flash card. My main goal is to unlock all of the streetpass puzzles, because finding people who have ones I'm missing is an absolute pain.

But the only reason I'd be removed from the hacking scene is because I don't understand much of anything, though from the walkthrough I did, I can definitely understand the appeal.

Okay, so, you already installed a few programs in .cia format, right? You install the JKSM .cia in exactly the same way. Or if you want to use the .3dsx version, then you put it in the same place as the other .3dsx files you used in the guide. What were you expecting..?

I don't think I added it back before the last release. You can check my Google drive links in the github Readme for an extra early build I put out a month or two ago if it works. The switch threading thing doesn't work as well on 3DS. Also the generated icons get kinda garbled. I think pressing the circle pad left and right switches save types. It's not complete but I think it works?
