As of late, our staff has been trying to expand our video coverage. In the past year, we've rebooted the Tempcast, done the occasional video review, shown emulation performance on hardware, and given our first impressions on games. It's been fun for our Magazine Staff to experiment with this kind of format, and we've enjoyed it, but we also wanted to know what YOU, our potential viewers and lovely community would want to see on the channel. This wouldn't take away from the existing written content, but would add to our overall coverage that we can provide to you.

Considering GBAtemp's community over the years, I'm all for "first impressions," "reviews," and "news" videos, but I think they should be focused on impressions, reviews, and news having to do strictly with homebrew products and conceptions, rather than commercial games and products. Also, I personally would love to see a heavy focus on instruction videos on how to execute and utilize many of the great homebrew apps and such developed by the folks who frequent here.

Thanks

How about:

  • Reporters reviewing games.
  • Doing reviews to engage users into buying hardware/software.
  • Specialized interviews with developers (GBATemp members that has developed something for the Gaming Community)
  • Guides on FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS on the many different forums.
  • Hardware Modification guides.
  • Buying guides/recommendations (without being biased)
  • How about forcing @FAST6191 into teaching us stuff like DIY's, Fixing stuff... pick-up lines? (just kidding with this one, but you get the drift)
  • @Chary Belly dancing.
  • ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'm mostly for tutorials and seeing hardware in action, as a visual person, reading forums and guides can be a bit difficult, but at the same time, I also understand it's a LOT easier to update a form/ guide than it is to rerecord an entire video while ensuring users which video is most up to date.

Very interested in seeing reviews and first impressions as well.

RAID Shadow Legends life changing testimonials, asking me to like comment subscribe, really really loud intro segments to drag on just slightly too long and most of all, royalty free dubstep on the outros where we thank all of our patreons and tell them how we couldn't do this without them.

Yeah, I'm very on board with this train of thought personally. GBAtemp in my mind has always somewhat been a homebrew/modding centric place in my mind, and I think the content on the youtube channel should reflect that. I don't think I mind the text reviews of commercial games a whole ton here, but seeing content more focused on flashcarts, emulation devices, homebrew, the like would be considerably more interesting.

GBAtemp branching out into influencer territory... I like it. ^_^

Lilith does game streaming sometimes, maybe they could contribute if they're feeling up to it?
