Cant transfer files ,sav files from Visualboy advance to Everdrive X5 GBA

I tried changing file extension from .sav to .srm (the correct type needed) then i copied over the files to gbasys saves folder but the gameboy advance game asked me to create a new save file.

Visualboy advance settings

Emulator Save type is Automatic - Flash 64k by default settings

.eep save files are wroking fine but .srm files keep resetting the save progress

How can i properly inject .sav files from gba emulator to everdrive

which one matches .srm for everdrive gba?
In my case, I own a SuperCardSD with .sav files of 64kb size.

In your case, I don't know what size your .srm files are. If you do know, please select the output option (target format) corresponding to that size (one of these RAW formats: 8/32/64/256kb etc.).Then change the file extension to .srm. Do you understand?:)

one thing I've learned is that the save files for the everdrive are named according to file size. 64KBs is fla format. I figured this out when I transferred all of my saves from the actual carts (dunno if there's a difference with emulators, but a lot of emulators pad their saves, so saves can be much larger than they need to be. you may have to trim it through hex editing):

In my flashcarts I have many GBA roms, including WarioWare Inc, and the .sav file is always the same size: 64kb.
Anyway I asked you if you knew the SIZE of the .srm file, not the title of the game.

There are multiple options at shunyweb.info which one matches .srm for everdrive gba?
Read well: The size of this .srm file is the same for all games: it should be 32kb, in your case. You should choose "ezflash v/raw format [force 32kb]" in the conversion tool.
Try to see if it works.

Note: I found this info that I think will be helpful to you:
"When loading your savegame from the emulator onto the Everdrive, be sure that you have another game loaded on the "internal memory" of the Everdrive. Otherwise your copied savegame will get overwritten. In other words, make sure that the last rom you've played on the Everdrive is something else then your game (WarioWare inc)."

btw, I tested each: eep, srm, and fla on my everdrive, and all worked. I don't know what else to tell you unless the padding is causing a problem. I know that with the wii u, saves with heavy padding (say 500+KBs) require trimming, if going from say a ds to the wii u, because the save on the wii u is say 8KBs. it's padded with 0's or F's, so just delete all of them after the actual save data. if you don't do this, as per my test, the save will not be recognized and the system will create a new save in its place.

this might work. there's a button combo to load the last game if you forgot what it was. it will load the game automatically without going into the everdrive menu. it may also be in settings, which I think is select iirc while in the menu.

just drop the save into the hex editor. see if it's padded. this is really a wild guess as to why it's not working. I didn't take my saves from an emulator. I dumped the games and the carts from my collection using the ds, then I put them on the everdrive. also, make sure it's the right format. what is the size of the save? if it's 64KBs, I think it needs to be in fla format.

no idea. all I did was change the file extension and left settings on default. the save type is determined by the size of the save it would seem.
