Hack a Vita with a broken wireless board (PSVita with no internet access capability)

If you are an unfortunate owner of a Vita with a busted wireless board, them this guide will sure help you!
It's kinda toilful and boresome, but it will work.

First of all, this is how you find out if your vita's wireless board is busted:
1 - Every time you try to turn on/off Airplane mode, your vita will ask for reboot.
2 - Can't find or connect to any wireless access point in any mode.
3 - Your MacAddress appears as an "-" in the Settings app.

Before following this guide, here are some notes you should take:

1- You can only go for Enso 3.65. 3.60 is not possible since it's a browser hack and your vita don't have the means necessary to connect to the internet
2- You'll have to MANUALLY install and config every plugin that you want to install on your Vita, since Autoplugin can't connect to the internet
As stated by HRudyPlayZ, Autoplugin works offline, it just can't update automatically.
3- Be very careful when editing Tai Folder contents, any mess up can cause you to have to follow this guide all over again. (Yeah, I did mess up once)

Let's get to the prereqs:

1- A PSN Account (A fake one, preferably)
2- A PC with internet access and Vita compatible USB Cable
3- A PS3 with internet access(Yes, you need one. You can borrow one tho, it'll be fast)
4- If you own a PSVita 1000, you'll need at least a 4gb Vita sdcard

STEP 1: Update your firmware

1- Install QMCA (https://codestation.github.io/qcma/)
2- Download the latest firmware (https://darthsternie.net/ps-vita-firmwares/) (3.73 as of 07/25/2021)
3- Configure QMCA and put the "PSP2UPDAT.pup" in the "PSV Updates" folder
4- Plug your PSVita onto your pc via USB
5- Open "Settings" > "System Update"> "Update by connection to a PC" and update your Vita

STEP 2: Activating your PSN Account

Now here's the big catch, since you can't access internet with a busted wireless board, you can't activate your PSN account.
That's where the PS3 will save the day! You can activate an PSN account by simply connecting your Vita to the PS3!

1- Turn on your ps3 and create a new user to your PSN Account
2- Log into your PSN Account and Activate it in the ps3 (that's important, don't miss it)
3- On the PS3, close everything, and then select "Users"
4- Connect your Vita and the PS3 system using the USB cable
5- On your Vita, select "Content Manager" > "Copy Content"
6- When the sign-in ID used on the PS3 system is displayed, select "Use"
7- Enter the password for the account used on the PS3, and then select "OK"

Now your account will be activated, you can turn off your ps3 or give it back if you borrowed it!

STEP 3: Installing CFW Part 1

1- Download these bad boys FinalHE (https://github.com/soarqin/finalhe/releases/tag/v1.92) and VitaDeploy (https://github.com/SKGleba/VitaDeploy/releases/tag/v1.0)
2- Extract FinalHE.zip Contents to a location on your PC
3- COPY (DON'T EXTRACT) vitadeploy.zip into the FinalHE folder you just extracted
4- Launch the Content Manager application on your Vita
5- Tap “Copy Content” > “PC” (If it asks you to log into your PSN Account, reboot your Vita and try again)
6- Select or register your computer if prompted
7- On your PC, launch FinalHE and select “Trim h-encore to ~7MB”
8- Click on the small arrow on the right-hand side of the FinalHE window (This can be hard to spot, so mind this step!)
9- Tick the “VitaDeploy” box and the Click “Let’s GO!"
10- Wait for it...
11- Tap “PC > PS Vita System” or “PC -> PS TV System” on your Vita
12- Tap “Applications” > "PS Vita"
13- Select “h-encore²” and "VitaDeploy"
14- Tap "Ok" > "Copy" and wait
15- Close FinalHe on your PC and close content manager on the Vita

Here's the tricky part, "h-encore²" has a very low success rate, so if you just get a White screen, reboot and try again, it will work!

16- Launch h-encore² on your PSVita
17- If the exploit was successful, you will now see the h-encore bootstrap menu, Press X to close the app
18- Launch the Settings application and go to "Henkaku Settings"
19- Check “Enable Unsafe Homebrew” option, confirm and close the settings app

STEP 4: Making preps for and downgrading to 3.65

1- Download these bad boys VitaShell (https://github.com/TheOfficialFloW/VitaShell/releases/tag/v2.02), Modoru (https://github.com/TheOfficialFloW/modoru/releases/tag/v2.1) and Official Firmware 3.65 (https://darthsternie.net/ps-vita-firmwares/)
2- On your Vita, launch the VitaDeploy application
3- Open up "File Manager", it shall open Vitashell
4- Press start to configure your connection to "USB MODE" and press select to connect
5- Connect your Vita to your PC via USB cable, it should show up as removable disk
6- Copy "Vitashell.vpk", "Modoru.vpk" and the "PSP2UPDAT.pup" file corresponding to 3.65 to a folder inside your PSVita card
7- Install Vitashell and after it, Modoru.
8- After installing Modoru, go back to the "ux0" folder and go into "app" > "MODORU000" and copy your 3.65 Pup file here.
9- Close vitashell and reboot your device
10- Launch henkaku² again until it succeeds
11- DON'T OPEN ANY OTHER APP, GO STRAIGHT FOR MODORU AND OPEN IT!!!!!!!
12- Follow the instructions and downgrade your firmware (make sure you have enough battery power)
13- After waiting, your Vita will be at OFW 3.65.

STEP 5: Installing CFW Part 2

This part has no secret at all, you'll see!

1- Download this REAL bad boy here ENSO 3.65 (https://github.com/TheOfficialFloW/enso/releases/tag/v1.1)
2- On your PC, launch FinalHE and select “Trim h-encore to ~7MB”
3- Launch the Content Manager application on your Vita
4- Tap “Copy Content” > “PC”
5- On your PC, Click “Let’s GO!" on FinalHE
6- Wait for it...
7- Tap “PC > PS Vita System” or “PC > PS TV System” on your Vita
8- Tap “Applications” > "PS Vita"
9- Select “h-encore” and "VitaDeploy"
10- Tap "Ok" > "Copy" and wait
11- Close FinalHe on your PC and close content manager on the Vita
12- Launch h-encore on your PSVita (this one has a better success rate)
13- If the exploit was successful, you will now see the h-encore bootstrap menu, Press X to close the app
14- Launch the Settings application and go to "Henkaku Settings"
15- Check “Enable Unsafe Homebrew” option, confirm and close the settings app
16- Open up Vitashell and connect your Vita to your PC via USB Cable
17- Copy enso.vpk to your Vita and install it.
18- After installing it, close vitashell
19- Open up Enso
20- Follow the instructions and install it
21- SUCCESS MY FRIEND, YOUR VITA IS FULLY HACKED!

Could be a useful guide, though at this point you might as well just change the Wifi board...

One thing that's wrong is that Autoplugin technically works offline. Unless their update checker code is broken and doesn't let you access the app without internet which i doubt, you can use it fine. That's actually one of the reasons why using it is actively discouraged, in addition to it corrupting your config. Autoplugin never downloads any plugin, and just stores all of them in it's VPK. That's also why each update gets massively bigger each time. It's just a self-extracting archive.

Thanks for the useful information about autoplugin, I didn't know that.
Will update the guide soon!

About changing the board, if it's a PSV1000, the board is hella cheap, but a PSV2000 board is away expensive and kinda hard to find.
On my case, I had a PSV2000.

Hi @magicbob93

I don't have a PS3 nor can borrow it. But I have a friend who owned a PS4.
Is it possible to use your tutorial but using PS4 instead of PS3?

I see, you do have a point in there. They don't mention PS4, maybe because when the Vita's released, PS4 is not yet released.
Anyway, thanks for your answer.
