PERMANENT Joy-Con Drift Fix? Steam Deck, Nickelodeon Smash Bros & more - Tempcast #48

tempcast-169-logo-png.246523
In this week's episode we talk about YouTuber VK, who has seemingly found a way to permanently fix the drifting issues plaguing the Nintendo Switch Joy-Con for years. Though we cannot confirm whether or not this resolves the issue 100% completely, people have reported positive results. We also discuss the newly announced Switch Pro - I mean, Steam Deck from Valve. And finally, the biggest announcement of them all - Nickelodeon is making their own Smash Bros clone with all of their characters in it. Netflix's gaming strategies are briefly mentioned in this episode as well.

Just tried this on my Joy Con that had a NASTY drift. Piece of paper did NOT fix it...helped...but no fix. BUT!!!! I tried an old amazon gift card and it is like new!!!!! Many thanks! And it is easy. I did not remove any cables....just opened and moved them and the battery. AMAZING!!!
Did you use the amazon gift card to buy a new joy-con or just that it is a piece of plastic?

I cut an old Amazon gift card to replace the piece of paper (needed a bit more thickness). You can tell if the "fix" is gonna work for you by running the calibration in settings and squeezing the joy con around the actual joystick (front and back). IF the calibration dot "jumps" back to center when you squeeze....the fix will work!

Oh wow, I just put a piece of pizza box under the stick and it looks like my right joycon doesn't drift anymore. Time to finally play my copy of Skyward Sword HD without camera problems!

So much for getting 20x joycon's replacement sticks from Aliexpress.

Edit:
After few hours of playing Zelda, I had no longer any drifting problems or what-so-ever.

I'm wondering if the reason I never got drift in all these years is because I've always had third party shells on my joycons which are a really tight fit?
