Pokémon Divine Sword & Blessed Shield - v1.1

I can't believe I am finally writing this, but Phives and I are proud to finally present Pokémon Divine Sword & Blessed Shield, a difficulty romhack. Why release another romhack when Sacred Sword & King's Shield is out, you may ask? Well to be quite honest, that project was rushed and is not something we are particularly proud of. So, we have been working on an entirely new one ever since the release of the Crown Tundra. Now, over half a year later and a LOT of hours sunk into playtesting, we are finally ready to release the first version!

Intro - What is Pokémon Divine Sword & Blessed Shield?
Pokémon Divine Sword & Blessed Shield is a difficulty romhack, taking inspiration mostly from Drayano's work. However, I also played Radical Red last year and took some inspiration from that, although outside of QoL features those are purely optional. So don't worry if you want to play in Switch mode and use healing items in battle! We've made edits to nearly every Pokemon, mainly focusing on making egg and tutor moves available through normal level up movesets as well as providing buffs and new moves to tons of different Pokémon. Of course, there is documentation for everything included in the google drive folder with the download. We've of course redone the team of every single trainer in the game, and hope to encourage team building in order to over come these challenges. However, it is important to remember that all of this is done within the confines of Sword & Shield. We cannot make the AI super smart, nor can we force certain aspects like a level cap, etc. However, we have gone to great lengths in order to make it the best we possible could.

Notable Features:
  • Completely reworked Raid rewards system
  • All 600 Pokémon from Sword & Shield (including DLC) catchable outside of the Isle of Armor and Crown Tundra
  • Overhauled boss battles
  • Quality of life features such as purchasable EV reducers
  • Shop overhauls in order to make competitive items easily accessible
  • Healing items disabled during trainer battles (THIS IS OPTIONAL)
  • Battle Items removed from the game (not optional, as X items are the new purchasable EV reducing items)
  • Edited Adventure Guide for in game documentation
  • Edited Pokémon & various buffs/moveset edits.

Credits & Thanks
  • The amazing creators of pkNX, this project would not be possible without their hard work
  • Drayano, for allowing us to reference some of their changes from Renegade Platinum.
  • The creator of Radical Red, soupercell, for allowing us to use certain Pokémon edits from their romhack in ours
  • https://twitter.com/__Toner___ for the logos

Pokejobs being broken is an intentional feature in order to prevent an EXP/EV exploit.
The only part of the Post Game that is currently finished is the Hop & Sordward/Shielbert section. Champions Cup rematches and such are not edited yet.

Hey Kobazco,

First of all i'd like to thank you very much for this romhack, I'm having a blast with it. I do have a question about it, I am currently doing a hardcore nuzlocke and spending time EV training all my boxed mons isn't something i want to sink time into as I already don't have a lot of spare time. Would using PKHeX to get proper EV spreads on my mons mess them up in any way? Like would the buffs to base stats you made be reset to original values? Or is that a completely independent thing?

Many thanks.

EDIT:

Ok so I tested this and indeed it resets the base stats of the pokémon to the original ones, so I guess this method cannot be used. It also resets abilities to default, which you could easily replace with capsules/patches, but I would believe there's no way to get the stats back to the buffed ones.

all the legendaries (max lair) will be available in both versions ? or we can get legendaries with another way?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

all the legendaries (max lair) will be available in both versions ? maybe in the wild?
I read that you said the DLC are untouched, but also said that all 600 pokemon its available in both versions, thats why I'm wondering.

Hey Kobazco, in the documentation it says you can evolve a Pikachu into Alolan Raichu by using a Sun Stone, is that right? I am unable to do it in my Divine Sword though, it just says the stone can't be used on the Pikachu, is it bugged?

Kobazco, i want the original moves and type for every pokemon, wich file in the mod should I delete?
After this change, if a trainer was supposed to have a pokemon with a modified move, what would he have now?

tanks for your hard work

2 quick questions:
1. is the eternatus fight unchanged? I'm approaching it in a HC nuzlocke and want to be able to properly prep for it
2. is there any actual in-depth documentation of normal trainers with the IVs, EVs, Natures, Abilities, and held items as well as the pokemon and level?

You can use PKHAX to alter stats/abilities to whatever you want.

Hey everyone. Just wanted to thank you all for trying out and playing our work. We're well aware of a few bugs that cause crashing in rare instances in the Wild Area and such, we just need to look into it. I've been really busy lately though, so the fix might not happen right away. Please make sure to leave autosave on, and save often in the Wild Area!

If you were to delete the file that does this, all of the trainers would cheat and have moves that would not be obtainable for you. I would not recommend it.

So I have a strange issue that I have not been able to resolve. The Divine Sword / Blessed Shield icon still opens to the mystery gift options. Unless I am doing something wrong I cannot seem to access the in game documentation for the mod. Everything else seems to be working fine. Is there outside game documentation that shows the alternate evolutions?

Hey! Great work, I'm really enjoying the hack. However, my galarian slowpoke isn't evolving into slowbro even past level 37. I downloaded the patch just 2 days ago so I don't think it's one of the old evolution bugs. What could it be?

Hi there.

Galarian Slowpoke cannot evolve into Kanto Slowbro.

Yes. Galarian Slowpoke evolution method is the same. You can get the DLC item required to evolve them from poison type raids.
Oh I get it now. I just found the documentation a bit confusing and assumed the evolution method had changed. Thanks :)

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way
