I like my DSTWO when I used my 3DS. But today I would probably just use the opensource alternatives.
i ended up installing YSMenu. what an amazing piece of software. replaces stock UI with a simple no nonsense loader. still need Moonshell for playing music, watching videos, and images. now i can't decide whether to use YSMenu as primary, and load moonshell from it, or keep Moonshell OS as primary and just start YSMenu from within the loader.
I still have it since 2010. I am one of firsts who bought it.
The one downside is that the sticker wears off quickly due to being fat.

I've been having really good luck using GBARunner2 on my DS Lite, launching it from my R4i Gold 3DS RTS (www.r4ids.cn) and all the games I love to play work great with minimal issues. Usually it's just some out-of-sync music stuff, easily negligible.
I've had my DSTWO since launch and I still enjoy it. I still feel like its biggest downfall was the Supercard team's hesitation to release their source code, which results in many shortcomings for the cart. I really dislike that games reboot to EOS instead of something like TWiLight Menu++. There were also a lot of promised features that never happened or half-assed before they moved their focus elsewhere. I prefer using my R4i Gold Plus and ak2i over my DSTWO because Wood R4/akAIO are far better kernels in terms of quality and appearance, plus the ak2i is better for homebrew launchers like MenuDO or Moonshell2. I wish the DSTWO got the love it deserved from the Supercard Team because it could have been better. It's still a great cart and the hardware allowing some of the best GBA/SNES emulation, but the kernel could have been better.
I use the supercard dstwo myself, on the ds. I have twilight menu++ installed on it. I do agree with the person who mentioned its connection issues. there have been a few times where the connection with either the cart or the micro sd itself wasn't secure, and it couldn't be read. once it's in there just right, there are no problems. I think it's the spring mechanism that's the problem, because it's very cheap. when I try to remove the card from the 3ds, I often have to stick my fingers into the slot to pull the card completely out. those are build quality issues. the card itself, what it's able to do, is very well done software wise imo. I went from one flash cart to the next, because support disappeared from them or something, but I settled on the dstwo at some point, and I never had to replace the cart for something better or anything like that.
Well, the comments on this thread have caused me to look into the state of DS games on TwilightMenu++, and apparently most games are compatible now. Well, I'm going to switch to TWLM++ instead of using my DS2+.

I will be honest if my DSTwo was not bricked I would still use it for emulation.
I know alternative etc but I was used to it on my DS

Until cloneboot isn't supported by twlightmenu, I'll stick to both my DSTwo and my original DS carts...

Yes it is an original game, and considered one of the best versions going (albeit you might meet Japanese tetris vs not debate here).
Tetris Grand Masters 3 (arguably the definitive version both then and maybe even now) was however remade (in spectacular fashion) as homebrew on the DS by a Japanese homebrew dev called meraman (if you have played anything else by him it was likely some of the music homebrews https://www.gamebrew.org/wiki/NDS_BGMFILER ). It saw a cease and desist though so became quite hard to find

Indeed "best homebrew" might be a category but they also arguably beat out both DS commercial efforts (TetrisDS and Tetris Party Deluxe/Tetris Party Premium), though I actually quite like TetrisDS (after https://gbatemp.net/threads/tetris-sound-hack.36870/ I have many hundreds of hours playing vs cpu mode) where I find party feels like mush (even more so than the otherwise interesting PSP versions which suffered for the controls... should try that out on an emulator now).
Lockjaw/tetnus on drugs was also on the GBA and handily beats out baseline Tetris worlds (there is a hidden mode that plays more like classic tetris and is pretty good -- "Popular Mode, On select screen and Marathon Mode highlighted Hold L, press Select") which is what the English speaking world got for the GBA, the Japanese also got Tetris Advance aka minna no soft tetris and that is really good (so much so I actually own a copy and paid handsomely for it).
*don't think any directly other than maybe the rename but tetris company vs world of homebrew/open source is a different discussion ( https://news.slashdot.org/story/08/02/26/1859249/tetris-creator-claims-foss-destroys-the-market ), though there is a reason you will see it dubbed tetromino stacking game by many.

I haven't seen much of this "fanboyism" that you speak of, I see mentions of this card but that's about it.
The SuperCard DSTWO like any other flash cartridge had pros and cons, what made it stick out from the rest though was the hardware it rocked. In terms of hardware specifications it definitely was the most powerful of them all. The con was it drained the battery faster than most (there are other cons as well but those aren't involved in this case) but that's because the system battery just wasn't designed for that much power usage, not to mention the technology wasn't really catered to a high standard of low power consumption either, even so, for what it was, it was unique and neat.
To be real with you though, I doubt another card like it will ever exist again, but I don't think we really need another one like it honestly. Yea the sucker was great for what it was capable of doing, but at the end of the day you were already able to do most of what you already do with regular flash cartridges, play Nintendo DS titles and emulate some systems. Sure maybe the emulation department was nicer with the DSTWO, however we have solutions that work just as well already.
I honestly think people expected way more than they should have when it came to the homebrew, the demand was sometimes outrageous and or stupid (rarely it still tends to rear its ugly head from some individuals from time to time). The content can at least be improved upon though since the homebrew is open source still, up to the community to do anything with it though.
I wouldn't say the flash cartridge is a die hard must have device (let's not be hyper unrealistic now), but it's a neat piece of history to know about at least, who knows, maybe one of you could invent one that's more optimal and battery friendly than this flash device in the future, Krikkz unfortunately won't make an Nintendo DS flash device so (would be too expensive anyways probably lol), it's all up in the air for now.
Each flash cartridge is useful in some capacity, even though sure ones like the time bombs are pesky little shits, NTRboothax is still useful with them at least, if you like using YSMenu on those then that works too. So see, you still win in the end in some way. Though I do admit I wish the cartridges were much more high quality in similar fashion to the EverDrives, what's really ironic is the fact that even Chinese clone EverDrive flash devices are more high quality than the Nintendo DS flash cartridges lol. Oh well I guess.

My dstwo died time ago,cant boot even test it with two different 3ds consoles with the latest Luma installed. Its the best flaschart for ds but have two problems with that flashcart: Supertight when you insert in the slot 1 and draw to much battery for any 3ds or ds console.
