Somewhere on the internet, there's apparently a patched version of SSE that can load CHD files. I haven't got that, so I still need MagicDisc - the only nice bit of software I know of that can properly mount Saturn disc images. It's tricky to get it working on Windows 10, and there doesn't seem to be a reliable guide on the whole of the open web, so I'm making one.

Obviously I'm not responsible for anything - including damages - as a result of you following this guide you randonly found. Also you should check files for viruses and other bad things yourself. Windows Defender didn't flag anything but it's not exactly best in class. Here's the guide:

Disable Secure Boot in the BIOS

Run CMD as admin and run these commands:

bcdedit -set loadoptions DISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS
bcdedit -set TESTSIGNING ON

Reboot.

Install the Windows 8 version of MagicDisc from the MagicISO website. To do this you will need to rename the installer .exe to something arbitrary or Windows 10 will refuse to let you run the installer. md8.exe works fine.

The software will install, but the driver won't.

Download these files: https:/www.dropbox.com/s/wt1zwunureixtb0/magicdisc_FIXED_files.zip

Copy all of the "fixed" files to the directory where you installed MagicDisc and overwrite some of the files there. By default this is in Program Files (x86).

Right click the .ini file and select "Install".

Open Device Manager, click Actions, Add Legacy Hardware. The option can take a few seconds to show up.

Click "Install the software that I manually select from a list" then choose Storage Controllers, MagicISO Inc, Have Disc..., and select the .ini file. Ignore the warning about it being unsigned.

Run CMD as admin and run these commands:

bcdedit -set TESTSIGNING OFF
bcdedit -set loadoptions ENABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS

Reboot and enable secure boot in the bios.

Done. For SEO purposes, here's an error you might have seen if you followed a different guide: MagicDisc can't open driver(mcdbus).

If this guide helped you, please inform others of how great MagicDisc is.
