Can you check if it doesn't pop up with other languages? Here it is another PKG, it will install custom and original sysconf_plugin, make sure you have selected original mode for System Information before installing the PKG

Please reinstall the CFW again from Recovery Menu and use the PKG after the PS3 enters the XMB, there may already be a file called sysconf_plugin.rco.mod or sysconf_plugin.rco.ori and that is causing the freeze. You were using the Portuguese language right?

dev_flash has only 2MB of space and this PKG has 5MB had 3 beeps
Try to install them manually, I uploaded all files that need to be installed, mount /dev_blind and copy them

presented black screen and asked to install CFW

Edit;I made the change and didn't restart the PS3, was that it?
I will do it again
The file was copied successfully? Reinstall the CFW, meanwhile I will try to do something different in a new PKG

you don't necessarily have to restart the system. you just have to refresh the xmb, so you can go into say rebug toolbox, ftp from withing, then exit out. strange that you'd have this problem. you should have around 3.5MBs of free space, and the full plugin rco from what I remember is about half that size. I modified mine on evilnat 4.88 to change creation date to alphabetical, and I didn't have to delete the rco when overwriting it.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I did the same mod (alphabetical sorting) on rebug 4.84.2 rex, and I didn't have this problem either.

as long as that stuff is still in memory, you should be okay to delete it if for some reason you have to. just make sure you copy over the modified version before exiting the xmb or the next time you get on the xmb you'll be forced to reinstall the firmware. and, yeah, ftp is the better way. the files are small enough not to worry about corruption in most cases. if you are worried though, you can compare the byte size in each window of say filezilla to make sure it transferred or have filezilla only transfer over a file if it's a different size, then retransfer it over. ;)
