I'm a bit too lazy to go to the homebrew channel all the time and press some more buttons, but I heard somewhere that 3.0 gx doesn't support these anymore. So is there a user-made wad for the USB loader gx that is safe?

Forwarders are here :
https://sourceforge.net/projects/usbloadergx/files/Releases/Forwarders/
Take the latest one for your console (wii or vWii), and install it with this wad manager : YAWMM-mod ! (mod mod mod ?)
this manager doesn't rely on cIOS anymore, and has no more install error issues.

Wait, there were no question here!
You used another one (CFG or wiiflow?). USBGX has the same features (with bugs I added myself into haha) but has a more natural graphical interface (based on the wii main theme).
I'm trying to write a guide, how to setup or how to fix usual bugs, but I'm not sure what I should put in it. Too much lest to write.

Cyan you do awesome work! I can’t wait to see more from you! Any thoughts on adding more cover display options?

i meant, i was also asking the OP question about a fowarder, because i also would like to install it as a fowarder

i actually used both lol, mostly CFG usb loader mod, i somewhat moved into wiiflow but i didn't liked it as much and got confused by the keys it used or the sources thing

altough the cfg and wiiflow are solid choices, no more updates doesn't mean they don't work, i dunno, seen that usb loader gx is still being maintained and updated i am thinking going for it, feel more confortable, probably has more functions by now, no?

I’ve tried all loaders and usbloader gx is by far my favorite. The only thing I wish it did was let you switch between emulators. That’d be a cool feature. Other than that it’s amazing! Props to cyan

I don't have time to work on it as often as before, but there are still some features and fixes now and then.
the last addition (still beta) is support for WiiU gamepad while inside the loader, this is useful for people who use USBGX as nintendont interface. USB is not working and it can't reload another IOS, so no way to play wii games with gamepad, but nintendont has gamepad support too so it's a better interface than injecting gamecube games one by one in WiiU channels.

I think the only missing feature compared to the two other loaders is the SD support for Wii games.
It has been requested a lot, but I didn't have time to do it yet.

Switch between emulators? you mean the plugin system like wiiflow?
a dev did a modded version of the loader to add wiiflow plugin sources, but it's a mod and not available in the latest loader's revision.

As for new cover option/layout mode, I don't know. I never did one myself, it was done by previous devs. Which idea do you have?

All of your work is awesome btw. I totally get not having time to do extra stuff, but everything you do is much appreciated. I was speaking about switching between emulators just like wiiflow. I had no Idea someone modded the usb loader to do that. I'm gonna see if I can find it and try it out. I wonder what it's missing from the current 1268. As far as different covers I have no idea or any good suggestions lol. Sorry I was just asking with hopes that you had something else you were working on. Anyways thank you for all of your contributions and keep up the great work!

you can find it on the first post of the main thread.
I added a link to common modded version (tabmod, plugin mod)
I don't provide support for plugin mod as I never tried it and don't know what you need. you will have to search in the thread to get info from Fledge.

My idea for the future (if I have time/will to work on it) is to :
1. complete the gamecube part. Even if it seems complete, there are missing elements.
2. release v3.1
3. revamp the interface (use 16:9 for most menus, change some menu's names, use proper information instead of small warning prompt users don't understand, etc.)
4. add tab mod officially
5. add plugin mod officially
6. release v4.0 finale

That's only on an ideal world. I'm sure I'll do at least step2. I hope to do step3.

It might sound off topic, but there are no text at the game loading screen(the play game button and maybe the other is settings?) Is it because I have a Korean wii? I tried several times but the text never seemed to show.

it's because you don't use correct files and you miss AHB access.

how do you launch the loader? (priiloader, HBC, forwarder channel, full channel, forwarder channel on WiiU to vWii, injected channel on WiiU)
Which version or the loader?

It can happen on wii if :
- launched from priiloader, you installed the loader's dol or forwarder's dol instead of the forwarder's launcher, you use IOS58 instead of cIOS.
- launched from HBC, you don't use meta.xml, or a bad one, or a wrong cIOS slot (like ... 223 or 224)
- launched WiiU WiiVC injected channel with a version not updated to work with injected channels.

A solution is to use "rotating disc" instead of "animated banner" for the GUI option "game window".
but it's not a fix, it's only a workaround. It's better you fix your problem by using proper files and setup.

the vram is one advantage when it comes to AI but ends up being slower even with that and really AI is the only use case that needs more than 12gb vram right now

    Interesting lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think I watched a video where two games at 4K where eating just over 16GB of RAM and it's the one case where the 7900XT and XTX pulled ahead (minus RTX of course)
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
So my opinion is that they could age a bit better in the future, and maybe AMD will continue improving them via drivers like they tend to do. No guarantee there but they have done it in the past. Just a feeling I have.

cyberpunk at 4k without DLSS/fidelityfx *might* exceed 12gb
    +1
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but that game barely runs at native 4k
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think it was some newer games and probably poorly optimized PS4 or PS5 ports
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
they definitely will age better but i feel dlss might outweigh that since it looks about as good as native resolution and much less demanding
    +1

When I played Cyberpunk on my old 2080 Ti it sucked lol
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
AMD could introduce something comparable to DLSS but nvidia's got a lot more experience with that
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
least amd 7xxx has tensor cores which the previous generations didn't so there is the potential for AI upscaling
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
They have FSR or whatever it's called and yeah it's still not great
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
so AMD seem to finally be starting to take AI seriously
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Oh yeah those new 8000 CPUs have AI cores built in that's interesting
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Maybe they plan on offloading to the CPU?
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Would be kinda cool to have the CPU and GPU working in random more
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Tandem even
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i think i heard of that, it's a good idea, shouldn't need a dedicated GPU just to run a LLM or video upscaling
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the nvidia shield tv has AI video upscaling
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
LLMs can be run on cpu anyway but it's quite slow

Have you ever been beaten by a wet spaghetti noodle by your girlfriend because she has a twin sister, and you got confused and fucked her dad?

I had a girlfriend who had a twin sister and they would mess with me constantly.... Until one chipped a tooth then finally I could tell them apart.... Lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
They would have the same hair style the same clothes everything... Really messed with my head lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
@The Real Jdbye, I could see AMD trying to pull off the CPU GPU tandem thing, would be a way to maybe close the gap a bit with Nvidia. Plus it would kinda put Nvidia at a future disadvantage since Nvidia can't make X86/64 CPUs? Intel and AMD licensing issues... I wonder how much that has held back innovation.
