Hacking I heard RetroArch runs in XB1 compatibility mode on the Series consoles.

Shows up on my Xbox as an XB1 game not under the Series section. (You can sort games by system.) Games running in XB1 mode don't have access to all of RDNA2's features.

Sorry pal, but that was fukkin hilarious.... but aye, Retroarch is still using the extra horsepower of your Series console, trust me you're getting better performance than you would running on XB1. ;)

it doesn't, there also is no such thing as "xb1 compatibility mode"

there is such a thing tho. Xbox One games will use most of the performance the Series X brings with it, but it will still run in a GCN compatibility mode, which basically means the IPC improvements of RDNA2 will not be available, and of course hardware features it has are also not available (VRS, Raytracing acceleration, SFS etc.) but those features are not really relevant for Retroarch.
