new retroarch for retail that doesn't require a whitelist
add it to your library on pc - then it will show up in your library on console
you can also click the 3 ... near the "Get" button, and choose your xbox and it downloads remotely.

Unfortunately it doesn't show up in search

There is also this version which installs as a game rather than an app and is the exact same as the official dev mode version, this means that it is a little less up to date but is more stable.

I should also mention that the performance is the same as the whitelist version as this is pushed as a game rather than an app

Interesting... is there documentation anywhere on how to actually use it? I've used Retroarch on a PC, but this is the first time seeing it on the XBox One without dev mode. How does one "scan content" from a USB drive?

EDIT: Figured it out; the USB drive shows up as drive D:\ (this was without any disc inserted). Then you just scan like you normally would.

Don't even own an Xbox, but I made sure to sign in and get the app, so it shows as purchased and owned when I get around to getting a Series S for emulation.
Thanks for the heads up!

Smart move. I'm not sure how long it will even stay up on the store... some reddit threads suggest this was listed as a game as well, and the game entry was removed from the store shortly after it was posted. This one is listed as an app, and so far is still up.

Anyone manage to get the Beetle HW and Dolphin cores working? With my GC game (Ikaruga), I get an error about being unable to copy the ISO file, and with my Wii game that I ripped into a wbfs file, I just get a black screen (New Super Mario Bros Wii) and glitchy sound. I tried both the GL and D3D11 drivers. My games are on a USB 2.0 drive. PSX games (in the form of CUE/BIN file pairs) don't seem to load with the Beetle HW core. I'm not really all that invested into this -- mostly just curious. I have a Wii and PS1 so it was more to see how far emulation has come, and whether recent consoles are powerful enough to run more demanding stuff past the N64 and PSX generations.

Apparently ISOs don't work in this build? That's what I was told on /r/Emulation anyway. Guess I'll be sticking with dev mode then.

holy shit this lets you browse the internal storage and hidden workings of the xbox one.

This shit is gonna get pulled.

Also why does my theme look like DOS shit? Where's the original XMB layout that we all are familiar with?

Download the assets and it will look much nicer. And change the theme from ozone to xmb

Meh.. what a let-down. Well, cool novelty but not much more than that for me. :-)
Isos do work in this build but there are some io issues. Beetle psx also doesn't work for some reason, you need to use duckstation instead.

There is also this version which is the exact same version as the official dev mode version and has no limitations compared to dev mode but is slightly more out of date

Perhaps I'm doing something wrong, but it seems to want me to open the MS Store on my desktop when I click on it. I was assuming it would be like the other one where you click GET and it adds it to your library list. (EDIT: read your older post about it showing up in other places like your console after you get it for your desktop.)

Also, what are people using on their retail XB1's to transfer various BIOS files needed for certain cores? Or do you have to set the system path to your USB drive?

When I got it I went to my games and apps and then I went to all owned apps

That was the case for QZArch-[XS] but not the case for RetroArch69+ (second link).

EDIT: For the second link, as OP wrote, you can force an install by clicking on the "..." icon next to the INSTALL button (in the MS Store app) and force it to install onto your console.
