Hello everyone I recently created an EmuMMC and am running Atmosphere 0.19.4, with FW 12.0.0.

I am trying to play local wireless(LAN) with a patched switch and I can not seem to get it to work.

Titles I have tried:
AC:NH - Doesn't work - "A communication error had occurred", it does see the patched switches island.
SSBU - Doesn't work - "Unable to join", it does see the patched switches open room.
MK:8 - Works without issue.

Troubleshooting I have done,
- double checked internet settings
- wiped and re-installed EmuMMC
- Wiped SD and re-installed CFW
- Re- downloaded titles.

I am not using ldn_mitm, or switch_lan_play.
At this point I am at a loss on how to move forward. I do not wish to play online with other people, just local play between two switches.

Are both games on the same version ?

Back when I had still used my hacked switch, that was the only thing keeping local wireless gaming from happening (aside the lousy antenna that is...)

Both are on the same version, I don't understand why one title will work but not the other two.

To add to this,

I downgraded to AMS 0.13 and FW 10.0.4 to see if that made any difference.

I was able to connect and play via local wireless on SSBU, I then exited the game and tried AC:NH, and it did not work. So I went back to SSBU and that didn't work either.

It seems like something may be blocking it but I'm not sure what. I only had AMS 0.13, hbloader, and the sigpatches for AMS 0.13 installed and the games, nothing else.

I'm still not sure whats going on.

Are both consoles on the same firmware version?

Are both consoles on the same firmware version?

Yes, both are running 12.0.3. All games that were tried were on the same version as well.

Shortly after my last post I kinda gave up trying to fix it and did a final wipe and reset and updated everythingto the most current versions. The issue is still present unfortunately.

It seems to only affect anything using the switches adhoc function. So local wireless game play doesn't work, transferring save files doesn't work, version matching with local users doesn't work, etc.

I believe that's why MK:8 worked, it uses LAN rather than local wireless. I did not know they were two separate functions when I made my original post.

At this point I think it may be a hardware issue but I don't have a third switch to test that.

So, after more tinkering it definitely seems to be a wifi issue. If I clear the network settings on both switches and reset the caches localplay works on any game flawlessly.

I know that localplay doesn't use wifi to communicate with other consoles but it does seem to play a part.

However if I connect one or both of them to wifi it stops working. No settings are changed besides the default network settings.

Does anyone have any insight on this?

Do you have an /atmosphere/hosts folder?

Delete that folder.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

After deleting the folder it just re-creates on boot and the issue persists. I did reinstall atmosphere 19.5 and deleted every .nro except hbappstoe, jksv, reboot to payload, and daybreak.

I loaded just fusee-primary without having hekate installed and everything works perfectly. I'm not sure why heated caused an issue but it seems to be resolved now.

Edit: Yeah this wasn't it.

I found this thread searching my issue. I have not found a solution, so if you have any suggestions, that would help.

I fixed the issue awhile back by rebooting both the hacked and non-hacked switch, then resetting the cache on the hacked switch, as well as deleting all network settings. From there turn on Airplane mode and go to system settings and make sure Bluetooth and NFC are off but Wifi is turned on. (don't actually have any saved networks or internet connections though) For some reason this fixed the local play functions. If the issue comes up again, just repeat these steps. hope this helps.

Thank you for replying.

After reading your reply. I tried a few more things.

1. Under your Wi-Fi connection settings, scroll down and turn "Autoconnect" OFF

2. I now boot straight to Atmosphere (currently v1.2.4), *I don't know if this is necessary.

3. any time after connecting to Wi-Fi, I will then need to reboot the console to gain local play functionality again.
