The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 E3 2021 trailer, launches 2022

New footage was shown for the highly anticipated The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2. Gameplay was shown, including exploration of new sky islands, new powers, and more. In addition, it was revealed that the game now has a semblance of a release window: Eiji Aonuma says the development team is targeting a release in 2022.

IMHO, it detracts from the experience and gameplay since you're forced to scavenge for whatever stick or basic club's nearby, as weapons break so damn quickly. Furthermore, it renders any "special" gear obtained from defeating tough enemies or solving difficult puzzles emotionally worthless, since I know they'll break just like everything else.
Not even the goddamn MASTER SWORD is immune to this tripe, when it should just be the one unbreakable weapon the player can look forward to obtaining and using if they don't want to be hindered by the shitty fragility system.

Honestly, the Master Sword and one Bow should be unbreakable, along with one Shield.

As for stamina...it restricts how long you can sprint, climb, glide, spin-attack, etc. for before having to wait for an arbitrary gauge to refill, and it forces a wholly unnecessary choice when spending shrine orbs (increased stamina, OR increased Hearts - when it should be AND, or even better, just the Hearts), The user experience would be far better without needless waiting.
The weapons(especially special ones) definitely should either be repairable or not break at all. But with stamina, I feel that should stay. Partly because it does add to strategizing how to approach overworld obstacles. Like the devs said, it's to make traversing the terrain a mini puzzle that doesn't feel like a puzzle. It also restricts the player's pacing. Not enough stamina would mean a harder time in speedruns and whatnot. Players can choose to either go straight to the end or spend time to upgrade Link.

A "mini puzzle that doesn't feel like a puzzle"? "Add to strategising"? It's a freaking CHORE, having to babysit an arbitrary gauge! And "restricting the player's pacing" can be done by, say, limiting the number of Hearts they have. If they want to go straight to Ganon with three Hearts, they can; if they want to "upgrade Link" by getting more Hearts (so they can survive more blows), they can.
Limited stamina is wholly unnecessary; always has been. Skyward Sword proved it; BotW proved it; Twilight Princess proved it by not having it and yet somehow being the best 3D game in the series.

Any limitations stamina enforces could've easily been done with Hearts and/or less-powerful (though unbreakable) weaponry.

I mean... I like it. But... why did they Skyward Sword Breath of the Wild? Admittedly, I was kinda hoping for the same kinda dark undertone that they had in the teaser trailer, like how Majora's Mask and the first chapter of Twilight Princess were darker. But, that's what you get when you have any form of expectation, I guess.

Anyway, I do want to see more before I make any firm criticisms. But I won't deny that I was hoping for about a minute more for them to showcase the game.

I didn't find it a chore. To me, when I first started, the limited stamina and health made me feel vulnerable and weak. As I continued, I felt like I had a sense of progression. I can run longer, find farther resting spots on a mountain, take more hits, etc. It was very organic. Maybe it's because I played a lot of battlefield 2 growing up, but I don't find stamina management to be a nuisance. Running cover to cover and finding buildings to "camp"(like 5 seconds to assess the area) and conserve stamina was enjoyable. It made running across a map feel like a minor struggle and it was meaningful. Slowing down to recover allowed me to take in the surroundings.

Edit: twilight princess being the best 3D Zelda game is debatable. It's all a matter of what interests the player.

I prefer bf2 over 3 and 4 to this day because of its systems and deliberate design. Reloading a gun fired once means you lose the entire magazine. Running and jumping used stamina. These deliberately "annoying" aspects forced the player to think about how to manage their resources.

The limited stamina, equipment fragility, and lack of map markers are what killed BotW for me, so if they want this sequel to be better they'll have to rectify those flaws. I don't see why they'd want to keep those player-hostile elements, when it just ruins the game.
They should just abandon botw format as it was shit, to milk the same thing again just proves nintendo fans blindly love everything they do.

I cant beleive theyre getting wet over this teailer, more of link running aimlessly, bit of flying and wow i can turn into a drip and go through rock.

To think i went against my owk judgment and got a switch just for zelda and it was a bag of shit, now left with a console littered yet again with old ports of games they missed out on first time and already own.

I have no high hope of this been better, bet nintendo have their delicately select fans to reveiw, maybe slide a tenner here or there to give it 10/10, how the fuck botw got that when it lacks so much compared to othet open world rpg games, and the fact it ran sluggish and fucked up enemy ai.

Not a lot to see this time but I'm glad this is still a thing and that development seems to be going well according to Aonuma.
I had a lot of fun with the first BotW, although I wouldn't give it a 10 out of 10, it's still a very solid game and a great open world experience, and this sequel seems to be built upon that and aiming to improve it, so I'm looking forward to it.

It's unfair to say because you didn't like a game that it is objectively bad. BotW had good reviews across the board. You may have been disappointed but >90% of players and reviewers enjoyed it.

Finally BOTW 2 news, not anything big, but it's good to see it alive.
can't wait for it in 22 along with pokemon legends.

thank you nintendo for this :)
shame that the 35th zelda is only that Game & Watch thing, lol.
mario got alot more stuff for his 35th, but zelda? just a game & watch thing,
oh well. can't win them all i guess.

Fans will love what they love, but reviews can also be biased by given to fans.

Reasons behind my dislike is it falls very short to what other open world games have.

As a fan of zelda its not unfair to say it was bad, your logic then means because millions love watching the kardashians, your not allowed to say its bad because you dont like it.

I don't like it but if they're getting views and popularity who am I to say they're objectively bad? I am a nobody, a single drop of water in the ocean. I can say they're bad but do I have the authority to tell others the thing they like should not be liked? Stay humble.

If you've got great ideas, go ahead and develop a game with your ideas.

And where did i tell you that you cant like the game.

I said i didnt like the game and then who came to the rescue to claim otherwise, did you have the authority to question my reasons for not liking what you do?

Its funny you just contracted yourself just there, no one asked to you quote me, you did so because you didnt like to hear someone saying the game was shit.

And my reasons for finding it shit:
Lacking story
Nothing story driven
Repetetive shrines
Poor battle mechanics
Poor enemy ai
Performance issues
Normal enemies can be challenging, yet ganon was a piece of piss, and hes ment to be the big bad ass

Ive played other open world games and theyve done a better job.

But thats my reasons, you dont like it, then dont quote trying to force your opinion and claim i am wrong.

How did no one notice that the BotW 2 trailer was released in 1080p and the original one was 720p?
Switch Pro/FullHD gaming confirmed?
