I'm planning on hacking my switch soon and came up with a weird question.

Out of curiosity, assuming I was banned from the eshop and couldn't pre order games. How long would it take for a new game like The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles to become available to me? It obviously wouldn't be the second it came out. So more like, how long does it usually take for someone to upload the .xci file or whatever file is used to download games?

Not very long. A number of games have appeared online days/week+ before their street date. Most will be up within a day.

depends on the game, for games like Pokemon or Mario they get released some days earlier then release.

I'm aware there are ways to avoid being banned, but I still doubt them. If they work then cool, if they don't then whatever. I don't really play games online anymore aside from the occasional Monster Hunter binge. I just still want to be able to play some games on launch.

most games leak before release date... so it's hard to say
Before release? Really? So if you hack your switch you can get access to some games early?

Yes, if you know where to look and if they're luck to get it.

you are about to start the world of modding, but the VERY FIRST rule for modding is: Be able to read and follow instructions, and the rules for the forum, are very clear if you read them; an advice, do not do anything before read and understand everything about you the changes and be sure of follow all the instructions at the letter.

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
It's old but it's the best firmware out for DS stuff
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
it says it only works for the original R4, R4i Gold (r4ids.cn), R4iDSN (r4idsn.com) and Acekard R.P.G.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:

Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card
