To me it looks like they kept the mechanics that make it SMT, but I like how they revamped the battle HUD.
And as far as im aware this addition to the series that has a female protagonist, which I'm all for.
The only real question I have is how demons are summoned by the protagonist, in Devil Survivor 1 its a modified ds, Devil Survivor 2 is a mobile app.

But I'm definately looking forward to the games release.

There is a long gameplay session on YT if you are interested. I lost my in interest in the series after SMT IV and SMT III.

I have zero problems with the Shin Megami Tensei Franchise, both the main and Persona iterations.

I don't really care for whatever Sex the Protagonist is, unless it becomes Virtue Signalling at which point then I would care.
I've been playing the last few versions, including both the IVs on the 3DS and the Gender of my character has little to do with the Storyline nor Gameplay, which is how I prefer it.

On Persona it's a different issue and replacing the Protagonist with a Female there would cater to a different segment of the Dating Simulation Genre altogether, so that can become a problem in itself. But it has been done on the PlayStation Portable version of Persona 3, so it's nothing new and I played it as such.

As for the grinding, that is what I live for in Japanese RPGs.
You'll find many Asians call that Entertainment, which may be a cultural shock for those in the United States.

We have a joke of comparisons on the definition of Entertainment.
In Sports, the difference between those liked in the States and outside can be seen in the Scores; the larger the number, the more it caters to Americans.
Similarly, Sumo usually lasts for 10-30 seconds, at most 1-2 minutes; compare that to the average Boxing expectations.

Yeah, the older Pokémon games had a grinding element in them before the exp share was put in, Now the games are just way too easy, That's why I like to call SMT Pokémon's older brother.

I'll definitely get it, the question is if it runs like garbage or not as that'll dictate if I play the game on emulator or on console.
