hey i tried to start pokemon platinum but suddenly the game didn't work anymore and the one below was suddenly only white and the upper one was black but then everything worked

Update the forwarder pack by re-following Part 1.1.
If that doesn't fix the issue, then try recreating the forwarder.
If that also doesn't fix the issue, then replace the ROM.

Is soft resetting not a feature on the Forwarder3DS for DSi? If it isn’t would it be possible to implement it as MakeForwarder has the ability to soft reset.

I am having an issue with pokemon white 2. When launched through twilight menu, the game functions normally. When launched through the forwarder, the game starts up normally, but after trying to start the save and going through the c-gear prompts, the screen just stays black and the entire 3ds locks up (home button does not work, have to hold power for 10-is seconds), instead of displaying the season and continuing to the rest of the game.

It does this in twilight menu too if card read dma is on. I have it turned off for all games by default in twilight menu, but I don't think it affects the forwarder.

Re-follow Part 1.1 in the first post for the AP-fixes contained in the .pck file to be read.
Also, when the game runs in DSi mode (which should be set by default), the card read DMA option does nothing. Also, I don't see why turning it on could cause the issue, since when I tried it with DS mode and DMA turned on before and now, I never got the crash.

As for the entire 3DS locking up, that's an extremely rare and strange bug, as it never occurred to me, unless when testing RTCom stuff in TWL_FIRM after running TWPatch.

Hey there hope you can help me with this since I'd love to use the Nds Forwarder over the of Twilight Menu if possible. I am just wonder if it's possible to change the language of the game to something else. I want to use Japanese games specifically, but my Nintendo 3ds is European. I tried editing the booostrap.ini file as mentioned in the initial post, but I don't know what language I need to set it as since I don't want it to be the system language (-1).

I tried playing around with the bootstrap file but whenever I tried changing the language (I entered 1, just to test it), and launch a game, the boostrap file is automatically changed to language -1 again. (I tried this with Sonic Colors and Chrono Trigger).

Hope you can help

Since there have been users that have been complaining about the language being Japanese in some games that allow English or other languages, I've made it so that it always sets the game to use the system language.
Since nds-bootstrap re-implements built-in default settings, it can be made so the forwarders don't modify the LANGUAGE setting.

Thanks for you reply, really appreciate it. I see, that makes complete sense, I realise my situation is a total edge case. Having said that, is there any way around it from my side? Obviously I can use Twilight if I need to, but as you can probably imagine I do very much enjoy having my games on the home menu.

Ah I see, great stuff, yeah it's Japanese so 0 would be good, I'll give it a shot when I get back home tonight!

Hey, im having issues running the Forwarder3DS.jar file, in which it is just not opening. I installed jarfix + the latest java version (tested older versions too) and i cannot get this jar to run. Any help?

Open the directory holding the jar in a command prompt / terminal (on windows typing cmd into the address bar will open a command prompt in that directory) and type/paste in java -jar Forwarder3DS.jar
If it fails to open for some reason it will show the error.

I have the R4 SDHC GOLD Pro 2020 and got this working. I noticed a few posts in here about that, so I wanted to add my results because it took me hours to test and figure it out. I use this on my n2DS XL. I'm sure the same setup will work on DSi.

You also need the R4.dat file on your card
I also suggest copying one of these themes over, because the default theme is horrible

I use the Purple theme, looks like an old Windows/Linux computer, but it's clean and simple.

So if you have one these cheapos, usually has the timebomb attached, then you're going to want to use DSTT. (see below)

I used DS Game Forwarder pack (DSTT, R4i Gold, R4i-SDHC, SC DSONE) - for Slot-1 microSD (DSTT)
I used the DSTT settings on the Forwarder program and installed the cias
I booted up the R4 first, let it create the system file
Then I opened the forwarder. Worked perfect

Tips:

Holding B while the game loads allows you to access the R4 interface and turn on cheats
Go to your game folder and hover over your game
Check the box for CHEAT then hit BROWSE
Select your cheats, then press START to create the cheat file
You can then start the game from here and play with cheats on
Repeat the process to change the cheats

NOTE: Cheats won't work on normal loads, only when you use the B when loading option. If I find any workaround, I'll be sure to post it. Please refer to the FAQs on the main post on patching the roms if you aren't wanting to load the menu each time.

R4 SDHC GOLD Pro 2021
ect

Overall, I think this is a cheap way to get DS forwarding working with Cheats. Since you don't have to look at the UI except to select cheats, it's a win win since you get the clean forwarder process and can neatly organize on your 3DS homescreen.

Having the same issue, tried the command prompt and got "
Error: Could not find or load main class com.olmectron.forwarder.Forwarder3DS
Caused by: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: javafx/application/Application"

Got a weird one. A couple of my games are switching back and forth between the top and bottom screens, like the bottom screen flashes on the top and the top screen flashes on the bottom.

It's happening with Lego Star Wars the Complete Saga and Clubhouse Games.

Switch the clock speed back to 67mhz (NTR) to fix this bug.

Gotcha. Can you do it on a per-game basis, or is it global only?

Global only. You need TWiLight Menu++ to configure per-game settings.
