Migrating to Atmosphere is recommended, yes. With Atmosphere (and the proper signature patches), you can do just about everything you could already do with SX OS. Instead of being able to launch XCI files, you will have to install all games using your favorite title installer (TinWoo and Awoo Installer are recommended).

Hi, thanks for the reply.
I did get rid of all my .xci files and now have .nsp games. So any good guides or video's to follow to get this all set up on Atmosphere, Thanks

Also - What is the latest firmware version on the Switch that can play SXOS games? Thanks

You can install XCI files as if they are NSP files, so there is no reason to swap them out.
  • The latest system version that works with SX OS is 11.0.0.
  • The latest system version that works with Atmosphere is 12.0.3. Always check for Atmosphere compatibility updates before updating your system with Daybreak.
If you are using an exploitable system without a modchip, just do the following to switch to Atmosphere:
  1. Download the latest version of Atmosphere and put the contents onto your SD card.
  2. Download these signature patches. Put the fusee patches onto your SD card. They should go into the atmosphere folder that is already present.
  3. Download the homebrew applications you desire. Awoo Installer or TinWoo are recommended for NSP/XCI installation. You can also use blawar's Tinfoil (although it doesn't play nicely with a lot of NSP files). It's best used only for Tinfoil shops.
  4. If you plan on upgrading to 12.0.3, download 12.0.3 and put the folder onto your SD card.
  5. Boot the system using the fusee-primary.bin payload (it's next to the Atmosphere download).
  6. Hold R when launching a game title to launch the homebrew launcher.
  7. Run Daybreak and install 12.0.3. If you already have AutoRCM installed, it will be preserved.
  8. Optional: Use the Atmosphere Incognito feature, install Incognito, or install 90DNS to block updates.

If you are not connected to the internet and there's no risk of accidentally connecting to the internet, then you can skip update-blocking.

Sorry for a million questions - Thanks for being patient.
Do I have to delete anything on my SD card that has to do with SXOS, and will it affect my Save states when switching to Atmosphere?

  1. You don't have to delete anything related to SX OS if you don't want to.
  2. Your save files are stored on the Switch's eMMC, so they should work just fine when using Atmosphere.

Which zip file should I download ? Thanks

atmosphere-0.19.4-master-2ab01ad3+hbl-2.4.1+hbmenu-3.4.0.
or

@Lacius

I have a few question -

1) Should I update my Switch's firmware to the latest before installing Atmosphere?

2) What's the difference between Fusee & Hektate zip files

3) Should my SD card be exfat or fat32 before loading atmosphere ??

Thanks

You should update using Daybreak on Atmosphere. In other words, you should already be running Atmosphere before you update.

Fusee and Hekate refer to the bootloader. It is recommended you use fusee-primary, so you are using the fusee patches.

Your SD card should be FAT32. exFAT has data corruption issues on the Switch, regardless of if you're using CFW.

Which zip file should I download ? Thanks

Use the top one.

Hi ^^

I just bought a Switch and would like to cheat/save edit on Fire Emblem Three Houses without using homebrews or risking online bans.

Is there a safe way to do it?

I placed Exosphere .ini at the root of the SD and set the emuMMC option to 1. How do I verify it is working?
Do you mean

blank_prodinfo_emummc=1 ?

If that is the case you can verify by going to settings and check your serial number. It should contain a lot of zero's instead of your real serial number.

Yes, and yeah X something and a bunch of zeroes. Thanks! :D

I got the latest sigpatches and replaced some files, now the Hekate boot options look slightly different. There's only three options now instead of 4, and "Stock" now says sysMMC, is that ok? The names are only slightly different, so I assume Stock - sysMMC is the same as Stock like before?

Later Atmosphere build would work with lower firmware, not the other way. Even if you use fusee primary or hekate it still need the Atmosphere file on the SD. Think you need to flash spacecraft-NX on SX Core/SX Lite if you don't want to go through SX OS bootloader menu.
hope you dont mind me asking, but i followed your instruction for my launch switch and its running fine.

im ? for the mariko using core, i cant seem to get it running and im looking online and seeing loads of different things.

Can't help much with the core as I don't own one, perhaps this video helps a bit.

yea i looked at that but its links to dodgy exe installer

edit i got it working, first off i downloaded the latest atmos ect off the github, then only used this site for the sxgear steps and it boots into hekate and select payloads then atmos and works fine.
https://rentry.co/mys8q

now thats working, i cant seem to get tinfoil to run, deleted the folder, downloaded latest off their site and keeps giving corrupted data error.
