Indie open world adventure game 'Sable' gets release date

Sable is a coming-of-age, open-world adventure game made by the two-person game development studio Shedworks. It seems to draw influences from the likes of The Legend of Zelda and Hyper Light Drifter while still packing some originality of its own in a chilled, relaxed atmosphere. During Day 1 of E3, the game's release date was announced which was accompanied by a new trailer:

Sable is an evocative coming-of-age tale of exploration and discovery set on a breathtaking alien planet. Embark on a deeply personal journey as the young Sable and traverse a strikingly rendered open world filled with ancient monuments, ruined architecture, and wrecked ships fallen from the cosmos.

Some of Sable's highlighted features are as follows:
  • Explore at your own pace. You’re free to glide, climb, and travel on foot as you desire.
  • Drive and customize your own unique hoverbike.
  • Meet other nomads, and discover secrets and collectibles around the world.
  • Solve puzzles -- or don’t! It’s up to you what you want to do.
  • Experience an incredible original soundtrack by hit indie artist Japanese Breakfast.
Sable will launch on September 23 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG.com, Humble Store). It will also be available on Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass for PC.

A limited-time demo will be available starting June 15 on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, as well as June 16 on PC via Steam.

I hope this is more like A Short Hike.
But with less fetch quests.
Seriously, that game has way too many side stuff crammed in there to fill.
This looks like a game to get lost in, like ABZU on land perhaps?
Hope so.

Reminds me some of the Ghibli film Nausicaä. But that might be down to this game and Nausicaä being inspired by the artist Moebius

That gameplay video was pretty disappointing. I hope they put extra work into the animations, pop-in and climbing.
I played the demo and was very underwhelmed. And I bought an Xbox One ready for this game!

The animation, pop-in and climbing are really poor. Objects in the distance change LOD in the strangest way, and when they do they look different and are at the a angle of the ground. Far versions look totally different and are not angled to the ground they are on. Very odd.

I guess most of the effort has been scenario building?

Plus the story and the way it is delivered - in this strange third person tone - really annoyed me.
