Ubisoft Forward E3 2021 press conference roundup - Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora announced

Are you excited to kick off E3 2021? Ubisoft will be the first to take the digital stage with their Ubisoft Forward event. Pre-show leaks have already confirmed some of the things we can expect to see from the show, such as another crossover with Nintendo for a new Mario + Rabbids game, along with the reveal of Rocksmith+. Everything else is a mystery for now, but you can be certain that GBAtemp will cover all the new and exciting announcements as they happen, live. Be sure to tune in at 12pm PT (if you're unsure of when that is relative to your timezone, we have an E3 countdown clock on the front page!) to see what Ubisoft has to offer.

It starts now.

Rainbow Six is the first game up. Rainbow Six: Quarantine has been renamed to Rainbox Six: Extraction. Ubisoft presented a cinematic trailer for the story. Launches September 16th.

Gameplay will also be shown, with a deeper look via the development team. It's a 1-3 player game. You don't fight versus, this R6 game is all about co-op. You can lose your progress and gear by going into containment zones, but you'll be rewarded well.

There are new enemies like Spikers and Tormentors, and the powerful Apex. There will be cross-play, regardless of platform. Six Siege players will get special unlocks when they play Extraction.

The pre-show also revealed that the TMNT will be the latest crossover for Brawlhalla, and all four will be playable.

Rocksmith is next. The "future" of music learning is Rocksmith+. You can learn either acoustic or electric guitar. There are multiple skill levels and real-time feedback. You'll get to see your accuracy level, too.

Songs can be slowed down to help you learn them better. There will be a closed beta, you can sign up for it later today. Chord charts will be provided for all songs. This is a subscription service.

Riders Republic is an extreme sports game that has 6v6 matches. You need to do as many tricks as possible, while capturing modules.

There's cycling and snowboarding so far. Gliders.

Courses from real life are present, and landmarks too. Launches Sept 2nd.

Now it's all about updates to existing games.

Rainbow Six Siege is next. They're adding crossplay for Stadia or Luna. PlayStation and Xbox get crossplay in 2022.

For Honor will still be getting content.

Watch Dogs: Legion is getting a Bloodline DLC expansion, which focuses on Watch Dog's 1 protagonist Aiden Pearce.

Trackmania is getting a map editor and new water physics.

Ghost Recon turns 20 this year. There are more surprises in store for it, yet to be announced.

Just Dance is up. Just Dance 2022. Todrick Hall will have his songs in the game. Nov 4th.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla is getting one-handed swords and bugfixes. The team is dedicated to making the game run as smooth as possible and hope to keep supporting the game for months to come. There will be new expansions, too. Siege of Paris is the next DLC. Coming this Summer. It'll add new weapons, gear, and abilities.

There will be a discovery experience that lets you see the history and life of people who liked in the era of vikings. It's geared towards students and those curious about that time in history.

AC:V will have expansions even into next year, as well.

Mythic Quest was shown last year, and it's getting its second season. It's a workplace comedy about video games.

Werewolves Within is a movie that Ubisoft is working on. June 25th release.

Far Cry 6 footage. A story trailer sets the tone for the game.

Vaas, Joeseph, and the other Far Cry villains will have their own story expansion in the Far Cry 6 season pass.

Just as the early leak foretold, it's time for another Mario + Rabbids game.

There are Rabbid Lumas. Rabbid Rosalina.

Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope. You'll be saving the whole galaxy, this time.

Ubisoft is introducing more action elements into this new game. But there will also be an easy experience for younger players, and a more difficult mode for those who found the original too easy.

We do get to see some gameplay, too.

Releases sometime in 2022.

That's not the end, though. Yves Guillemot takes a moment to talk about Ubisoft, and also to thank their players for all the support.

The last game reveal for the conference is...

It's an Avatar game, based on James Cameron's movie series. All sorts of creatures are shown, and you can ride them. It appears to be open world.

How would you know? Rocksmith+ isn't out yet. Maybe you were thinking of Rocksmith Remastered?

Did you read the question? "Would be cool if somebody could figure out a way to convert new songs for use with the OG Rocksmith, assuming there are any worthwhile ones anyway." There is already a way to put pretty much any song you want into the old Rocksmith games. Why would a song appearing in Rocksmith+ suddenly change that.

Well yeah, I was thinking more about straight ports rather than using custom maps, but I suppose I should've clarified that.

"Rainbow Six: Quarantine has been renamed to Rainbox Six: Extraction"

So the delay was really just to delay branding, to remove any negative connotations attached to he word quarantine, due to the last year and a half.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I'm sure there'll be a lot of people who'll play it, maybe even like it, but it's a shame, with the engine and mechanics they've created, they choose to make a cheap lazy game like this (Rainbow Six).

It's obviously as they like to recycle assets and a lot were created for the previous dlcs.

A proper single player Rainbow Six in this engine, with these mechanics, had potential to be brilliant (although it is Ubisoft, so I'm confident it would be trash).

Most devs seem to prefer making zombie/alien swarms as it's quicker and easier by far. Dumb swarm = rush. Bullet sponges. Mess.

At this point honestly I don't think it will ever happen... I really hope I'm wrong tho
Well, Michel Ancel said the game was almost done, and the team could manage the development without him (retiring) up to the release.
I think it's happening, there were pictures and videos on his instagram, we just don't know when :/

Same for Wild I guess.

i remember a rumour that they scrapped it and restarted all over again so no idea what will happen, maybe it will be like mp4 and it will take alot of years.

Also fans wanted a sequel to the cliffhanger ending and yet we got a prequel and they said it will be an online multiplayer game now? i mean wtf, they might as well just scrap the game altogether imo, not every game needs to be a online multiplayer experience, specially one where it was kinda like a fun zelda style dungeon collectathon type of game turned into apparently hack slash online multiplayer fest probably with item drops and such..

I read something like that too, didn't really give much credit to the rumour, not really happy about the whole multiplayer thing, I feel like it's hard to tell a story in multiplayer games and the aspect I liked the most in BGE was definitely the story... Oh well, we never know, it's not because I'm not happy with the possible direction of the game that it means that the game will be bad, wait and see

well the last time we had that gameplay video was like 2 years ago? and the game just seemed wierd like an hack and slash combo thing, but the rumour is that they restarted from scratch so who knows what will come out of there, i have little hope that it will be anything good now.

seems they are kinda lost with it imo, same for splinter cell, they have no idea what to do, i think they want all their games going foward to be online mmo like the division and such since ubisot said they arent making that many AAA games now and are going for other types of games more, so it makes sence turning this into an online mmo and then live of microtransactions.
