Last month, Rune Factory 5 released in Japan, as an exclusive for the Nintendo Switch. Localization studio XSEED had previously confirmed that they would be bringing the game west and officially translating it sometime before the end of 2021, however, that's no longer the case. Announced shortly before E3 kicks off is the delay of Rune Factory 5's localization, pushing the release into early 2022. The game is still planned to make an appearance at E3 2021 at the very least, and will be featured as part of XSEED's lineup during the Future Games Show on June 13th.
The game hasn't been officially delayed again. Apparently, if you go to that website linked as a source, the image was supposed to say 2022 under Rune Factory 5. This was the only indication it was being delayed. At least at the moment it says 2021.
Just thought I should let people know that this is no longer correct.
So it still says 2021...I am hoping they showcase the English translation at e3, and I am pretty sure the game will get fixed by the bugs you've mentioned since they have been updating it.
Just got to continue to give them feedback on Twitter or email them.
Now the thing I wanna ask you - when you change the difficulty to hard mode are the enemies hard, like not dumb at all, are they like in rune factory 4?? cause I found out from a youtuber that the difficulty change doesn't matter it will still be easy which is off...
Anyway I am really gonna be happy to own the game whenever it releases it in English
Good luck, if the game is getting delayed because the translation team dedicated strictly to translating the game needs more time so that it will release in 2022, I imagine that means there is a LOT to translate.

I'm not really one to speak of that, because I exploited the intended mechanics of the crafting system early on to massively overpower myself in a way I doubt more than 5% of the player base will do. I don't forsee any difficulty whatsoever, even though I did switch it to hard mode. In RF4, like the game explicitly says, harder difficulties only modify how aggressive the AI is and how much max HP they have. They don't hit harder, they don't drop better items, they just do things more often and possibly take slightly longer to die. (Of course Hell mode increased elemental resistances of many things by one level, which made parts of the game, frankly, hellish.)
Anecdotally, they seem to be more aggressive on hard than on normal in RF5, but I'm not sure what else is changed. The base combat in this game is a lot more extensible because you can basically parry enemy attacks and interrupt a lot of things easily, unlike the specific and convoluted combat rules of RF4 that were often misunderstood.
Also, just like in RF4 you can basically eschew the difficulty of the game by using followers as meat-shields. You get one more follower here. Knowing how to craft things effectively will also melt the difficulty. The game is only as hard as you make it, honestly.
So I was curious about this again, and it may actually be delayed after all. Apparently, there was allegedly a press-release image sent out publicly that showed an "Early 2022" under the Rune Factory 5 part of the image, but much evidence of this has been scrubbed from the internet. Here is a source that shows this. It seems to have been, at best, an accidental leak. If it's happening they'll probably break the news in the stream at 4PM today.
Why this thread lists the official site as a source when that still lists 2021 [at the time of writing] I have no idea. That is not correct.

Ooh wow dang, I didn't know that..sigh I really do hope they fix the difficulty in rune factory 5 but other then that; why the heck would you do that? Lol
Yeah its already been confirmed to be delayed
- i am guessing it was an error at their end
E3. That's all she wrote. Guess it was a leak. Darn. Sites aren't updating yet though, I'm sure they'll get around to it. Out of curiosity, does anyone know why this article got posted here when the evidence, which was incorrectly cited, could have easily been a typo/error?
Super hyped for eventual English release. Seeing English text and hearing voice acting is a real treat. With all the glitches too, you guys shouldn't feel bad about waiting. I think it's a good call.

The games been already confirmed to be delayed already :/... coming out 2022...I really highly believe they are under staff.... I would have had 0 problems if they english translated the game while having the actual Japanese va instead of English to just release the game on 2021 like later on...sigh but nope, its gonna be even more time since they hired English VA's not into it though.
Eh...I dont honestly mind the bugs as long as they are fixing it which they are.
