Grand Theft Auto V lands on PS5 and Series X|S this November

header (1).jpg

Last summer, we were teased with the reveal that Rockstar would be bringing its best-selling Grand Theft Auto V to next-gen platforms. A few more details have been provided regarding this new and improved version of GTA V, most importantly, its release date. The "enhanced and expanded" Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 ports of GTA V will be available on November 11th. Rockstar promises that this release of the game, which originally came out on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, will feature better performance, higher fidelity graphics, and more. Grand Theft Auto Online will also be included, with special bonuses for PS5 players.

The Switch is more powerful than a 360 and PS3. No reason we couldnt have some sort of re-release for that console too.

I get the argument against releasing an M game for a Nintendo console. However I’d be curious to see how it would sell, since Nintendo consoles don’t get many M rated games.

Lets not use the marketing term "remaster", they are just ports. I expect ports to take advantage of more powerful hardware and maybe clean up a few things, but they are still ports. I mean do people call pc versions "remasters"?

I call it a remaster if it comes with improved assets while keeping the same source code. I expect improved assets in one form or another. Generally I don’t think of resolution or framerate first when I think of remaster. I usually think texture, FX’s and geometry improvements.

If it just has different framerate and Resolution it’s a port. If it’s rebuilt from scratch not using the old source code then it is a remake unless it’s making huge changes to the plot and gameplay which would then would make it a reboot or reimagined title.

I wouldn’t call Final Fantasy VII Remake a remake. It’s a reboot. It even changed the genre of the game.
Final Fantasy X remastered is a good example of a remaster.
The Legend of Zelda - Links Awakening for Switch is a good example of a remake.

plenty of m rated games have released on the switch so far and do just fine, biggest examples being doom and wolfenstein, and skyrim, and bayonetta 1+2

People needs to vote with walets, stop buying re-relased games. Right new we are in new generation with no new games/ips/franchises. Thats really sad, hopefully sales of GTA V and Saints Row the Third go really low.

Rockstar is more about quality than quantity

they def going to use the fact that nobody expect GTAVI to be released in their future marketing strategy

Saints Row the Third go really low.

uh isn't that a almost 10 years old game?

we also got news of a saints row 2 pc fixed re-release and didn't get any new news in over a year, turns out it was put on hold because one of the two people working on it got cancer and he'll now be working on it for the last of his days to make sure it's as good as it can get before he moves on

this guy is working on a free patch to fix the mess out of this game during his free time even though he have a cancer?

if so respect to him - don't care about the release date as long as we are getting it one day, skipped this game because of the port...

Wow, over three f*cking generations of consoles ...
On the other hand, if a game is good, I don't complain if it gets ported to each and every console.

Seriously we should already be in Gta VI now. Rockstars will probably continue to shove gta V down people's throat up to ps8.

I'm amazed GTA 5 is still going. I remember been hyped for the online heist missions back when the game released. By the time they came we'd all moved on to other games and never re visited it for whatever reason.

Surprising as myself and some friends used to play loads of Multi Theft Auto Vice City on the PC back in the early 2000's.

Will anyone really buy and play this even if they played it before on both PS3 and PS4 just for some extra water effects? Wondering. I think gamers should elevate their standards and boycott this game so that Rockstars will release newer games instead of selling is the same game again and again

*tap-tap* Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal would like a word with you out back...

@Chary if you're still staff when the PS9 comes out, I'd expect you to post news of GTA V coming out for the PS9.
