Possible SX Switch modchip clones appear on Taobao marketplace

e3Qc7ix.jpg

A challenger approaches, as a possible imitation product based on Team Xecuter's SX Core modchip has surfaced online. The discovery was initially posted to Chinese webforum Baidu, in which two images were uploaded, with claims of them being clones of SX Core. Supposedly, this knockoff chip would support Atmosphere CFW for the mariko and ipatched Nintendo Switch variants by soldering it exactly like you would with the SX Core. These clones have already appeared on Taobao and Xianyu, though they're currently priced at 700 Yuan ($108 USD) at the cheapest. While they may have "secretly shipped" off to various retailers to sell, it's still unknown as to whether or not these chips work, or if they're reliable. No word has been made as to whether or not the same mystery team has also cloned the SX Lite chips that have Switch Lite support, either.

New chips have appeared. Recently, Xianyu (Chinese retailer) has a batch of chips that can be bought in large quantities, which only support atmosphere, which is different from the previous tx chips. The imitated chips have already been secretly shipped.

Yes, that's an huge gap, this wouldn't affect the boot? Cuz the power is supplied by the SP1 soldering point mainly

no, it's all a matter of how you solder it.
The thing is...with such a huge gap, it will be hard to stick the solder there without damaging the capacitor , maybe a jumper wire would be better instead of a drop of solder

well it depends, is all them the same? I however agree with how big of a gap it is compared to the original.

Issue is with a big blob can cause a short/to much resistance.

The gap is easily bridged with a piece of bus wire. I would solder it to the mod ribbon board to hold the wire in place before soldering to the cap. However, this may not be necessary. If the connection points are to caps, then it is very possible that one side of each cap is ground, and the gap connection is redundant with either the ground connection on the other cap (the one without the gap), and/or with the ground connections to the metal cover via the two large solder tabs on the mod ribbon cable. I will make some resistance measurements before I install.

what do you guys mean by upload your own firmware ? with this clone you have to put files on it? how do you do that ?
For example, Spacecraft-nx firmware. By the way in the video above, in which the Chinese show a clone of sx core just and there is this firmware

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

No one came across the information about the MCU that is used in hwfly.

The same as SX core/lite :
MCU: GD32F350CBT6
FPGA: ICE40LP1K-CM49

These are available through AliExpress sellers on the down low now

I verified $137/ea with the beloved Peggy from AliExpress. Personally I don’t need more mod chips but I hope this helps someone out that does.

I just looked through AliExpress, but if probably cannot find the right search wird for it. SX core only gives me 2 seller with 200/ea

Question for experts, can anyone know what kind of chip in the photo? And then there is no marking on it.

looks like a V1 ribbon cable by itself unless I am mistaken

btw Peggy told me that you can mod the lite if you have a v2 ribbon. meh I don't know anything about it though :P

Hello, maybe someone can help. I'm looking for information on two radio elements, outlined in the photo. They are in the case of sot883 and I have markings 9ds and 8dq. Maybe someone knows what these elements are, or can tell what marking on his sx core?

I know this might be a bit off topic but I don't know if I should get the schematics for SX Core. (I can't attach any images because it says that I can't post that kinda of stuff. But if you want to see the images it's in a chatting server named SwitchHaxing)
