Humble launches the Heal COVID-19 Bundle, $20 for a collection of games, 100% goes to charity

sdadsad.png

On the heels of the decision to limit the amount that customers could donate to charity, and reversal of said decision, Humble Bundle has introduced a new bundle, all for charity. The Heal COVID-19 Bundle offers "$657" worth of games, books, and software, for $20. Humble will be giving all of the proceeds to a variety of charities, including Direct Relief, Doctors Without Borders, and GiveIndia. As for the games, there are 21 titles available, such as Hyper Light Drifter, The Witness, SUPERHOT, Undertale, and more. You have until May 19th to grab the bundle, if you're interested.

Let's do something smoll so that they call us greedy for reducing the ability of our buyers to donate to charity.

I hope more people get the chance to play Baba is You because of this bundle.
I've bought that game when it came out and it's just really fun, anyone who likes puzzles should give it a try :)
I'm not sure. I generally love puzzles and programming, but I just can't wrap my head around this one. It's original, absolutely. But I've had at least some levels that were just there to make you look stupid.

Erm... Is this sarcasm? Sure, humble has had larger bundles before, but seldom if ever so many headliners. And you can always donate more than the suggested minimum for the bundle.

What I mean is that in this bundle gives 100% of earnings to charity, they announced an update a few weeks back that they will limit the ability to donate to charity to 20% tops.

Damn, good catch. Reminds me of when S'mores flavored Oreos came out, and they missed the opportunity to call them S'mOreos.
You'd think they'd call the Oreos cereal Ore-O's, but they're Oreo O's.
Jezus, seriously? I can't but read your comment as "I'm not racist, you're racist!". Which is basically an argument a five year old uses.

You know damn well what black lives matter aims to do. It's one thing to stay neutral toward their goal, but calling them racist for standing up against discrimination means you don't have a clue what the issue is. Which means you've either lived under a rock (which isn't true because you brought this stuff up) or you're racist. Yeah... Sorry you're in denial on that fact, but if you behave in that way, that's what you'll be called on upon. @hippy dave is perhaps a bit brass about it, but he's right on the money. A childish reply isn't going to redeem you in any way.

Also... Who the fuck are you anyway? Humble bundle 's CEO?
"I was just minding my own business when they started pushing BLM down my throat"
Humble had exactly one bundle that supported black lives matter, now roughly a year ago. If you don't support the cause, don't support the charity. Easy. Don't act as if anyone came knocking on your door, forcing that bundle upon you.
I have honestly no idea why you're so traumatized by black people standing up for injustice when this bundle is for helping covid vaccinations, but this isn't propaganda being pushed down your throat either.
While I don't exactly agree with him, I also don't care for companies attaching themselves to social causes for business and good PR. It just screams "look how good we are, we care about [current issue] give us your money!" and then they never acknowledge the issue again. People should not be treated like a social cause or project and then forgotten.

Most of these games are trash and this supposed deal is coming from an organization that pushed BLM propaganda on its user base. I won't be supporting this sale.
I'd say it's worth it just for 7 Days To Die, Bioshock, Titan Quest, and Saints Row the Third.

That's your good right. I have to point out that some bundles (this one... Iirc the BLM one from last year as well, but can't remember) give 100% to charity, so the monetary aspect doesn't come into effect.
Humble 's recent critic was actually that their main trend is to shy away from charity with an imposed maximum of what you can give to charity. So indeed : their roots get certainly more blurred out.

Still... You wouldn't boycott a company because they once picked a charity you disagree with, right?

    Interesting lol

I think I watched a video where two games at 4K where eating just over 16GB of RAM and it's the one case where the 7900XT and XTX pulled ahead (minus RTX of course)
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
So my opinion is that they could age a bit better in the future, and maybe AMD will continue improving them via drivers like they tend to do. No guarantee there but they have done it in the past. Just a feeling I have.

cyberpunk at 4k without DLSS/fidelityfx *might* exceed 12gb
    +1
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but that game barely runs at native 4k
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think it was some newer games and probably poorly optimized PS4 or PS5 ports
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
they definitely will age better but i feel dlss might outweigh that since it looks about as good as native resolution and much less demanding
    +1

When I played Cyberpunk on my old 2080 Ti it sucked lol
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
AMD could introduce something comparable to DLSS but nvidia's got a lot more experience with that
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
least amd 7xxx has tensor cores which the previous generations didn't so there is the potential for AI upscaling
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
They have FSR or whatever it's called and yeah it's still not great
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
so AMD seem to finally be starting to take AI seriously
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Oh yeah those new 8000 CPUs have AI cores built in that's interesting
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Maybe they plan on offloading to the CPU?
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Would be kinda cool to have the CPU and GPU working in random more
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Tandem even
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i think i heard of that, it's a good idea, shouldn't need a dedicated GPU just to run a LLM or video upscaling
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the nvidia shield tv has AI video upscaling
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
LLMs can be run on cpu anyway but it's quite slow
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
Have you ever been beaten by a wet spaghetti noodle by your girlfriend because she has a twin sister, and you got confused and fucked her dad?
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I had a girlfriend who had a twin sister and they would mess with me constantly.... Until one chipped a tooth then finally I could tell them apart.... Lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
They would have the same hair style the same clothes everything... Really messed with my head lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
@The Real Jdbye, I could see AMD trying to pull off the CPU GPU tandem thing, would be a way to maybe close the gap a bit with Nvidia. Plus it would kinda put Nvidia at a future disadvantage since Nvidia can't make X86/64 CPUs? Intel and AMD licensing issues... I wonder how much that has held back innovation.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i don't think nvidia wants to get in the x64 cpu market anyways
