  • The method of launching FLOG was patched out in a firmware update shortly after people were able to launch it using Pegaswitch. There is a way of launching it but this bypasses the normal requirements. If you're interested, you can follow this guide

I remember reading Flog was removed as of 4.0, but was the joycon "Direct" motion removed prior to that? Was hoping to try it out, especially with "Ask Iwata" just having come out, kicking up nostalgia. Thanks for the guide link too! Wish I had asked before waving my arms about for an hour

The motion was never removed; they simply made it impossible to launch FLOG past firmware 4.0. Meaning if you wish to try out the hand motions, you will need to try it out on a firmware lower than 4.0.
how do i update atmosphere? just drop the file o the SD and I'm done?
Well best practice is to delete the old Atmosphere files first then place the new ones on the SD card. Typically, these include /atmosphere and /sept folders. If you have any game mods in your /atmosphere/contents folder, back them up before deleting the /atmosphere folder.

I was able to verify that my switch is not patched.
By using a paper clip and running smash stacks
I'm on ofw 10.0.1
I just ordered an rcm jig, in the meantime I'm trying to get up to speed.
Is there a definitive guide available. Like the one stop shop guides that 3ds and vita had?
Can someone point me in the right direction?
This is a lot to digest, thank!

I used this guide to mod my Switch: https://nh-server.github.io/switch-guide/user_guide/getting_started/
Then add sigpatches from here: https://github.com/ITotalJustice/patches/releases
The guide want you to use Hekate as payload. I decided to use fusee_primary instead.

To use atmosphere, should I edit config files ? I mean BCT, exosphere, override_config, system_settings. I ask for this because I edited once at the beginning and now when a new update is out I edit them to be the same as before. Maybe I should not.

Just what I want : Cheat not applied direclty (press a button to allow them), press R to go in HBL (instead of pressing R to go to the normal albun applet)

This is the kind of this I edited in those files.

Another thing, as always, I just see the latest update, after updating Atmosphere should I update sigpatches or they are still working ?

If you want to keep the same settings you need to either edit the config files again or reuse the ones you have from the old version. I would edit the config files that comes with the new version because there might be changes/additions to the files in the new version.

New version of Atmosphere usually require new sigpatches

Okay, that what I did until now, I'll continue, thank for your answer

In Hekate, on the latest version, how do I restore the NAND using partial backup files, in reverse of how it was backed up?

It should be possible as this is how I dealt with it last time a couple years back on an older version of hekate. I only have a 32GB micro SD so I can't store the entire file.

Solved using NxNandManager and "mounting" the NAND directly.

First of all, do not use any website to verify serial numbers as they are all outdated and thus unreliable. The only place where you verify serial numbers is the pinned thread on this forum where all of the data originates from in the first place.

How come restoring saves in Goldleaf doesn't work? I was able to backup my save, but when I tried to restore it, it was like its discarding any changes to the mounted save file. I ended up having to install Checkpoint and use that to restore the save file instead.

Because Goldleaf is arguably the worst homebrew application in the Switch scene and maybe ever released. It is very buggy, really slow, and filled with way too many semi-functioning features. It is a perfect example of a jack of all trades but master of none.

If you only hacked your switch to install nsp files, then Goldleaf is fine.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Tinfoil was always confusing to me. With Goldleaf you just browse PC files on switch, find NSP, click, and it installs, so simple

After updating to the lastest Atmosphere, Hekate and sigpatches I used Daybreak to update emuNAND to 12.0.1 and then booted sysNAND and updated to 12.0.2. Everything works fine on sysNAND, but when I try to boot Atmosphere this error appears. Seems it's has something to do with the fuses. Did I fuck something up when updating? I'd really appreciate some help with this.

EDIT: Right forgot to mention the error is :

Failed to match warm boot - Sleep Mode crashes console

How did you update Atmosphere and Hekate? Did you drag and drop the files or delete the old files then place the new one on the SD card?

Dragged and dropped. In the process I forgot to update the payload.bin before using Daybreak to update to 12.0.1, but after I updated the payload everything worked fine. Now after updating sysNAND to 12.0.2 this happened.

Its not recommended to drag and drop because old files from previous CFW versions can persist and mess up future CFW installments. Its recommended to always delete the old files then place the new ones on the SD card. If you have any game mods in the /atmosphere/contents folder, be sure to back them up before deleting the /atmosphere folder.
