Hacking N64 Expansion Pak emulation on Wii VC (8 MB of RAM on N64 VC!)

Hey everyone, Hydro Thunder for N64 goes to the injected N64 Wii VC games where can be enhanced with Expansion Pak with this procedure!

Hydro Thunder works (when injected in Mario Golf WAD) but with just for 2 players. But when it is enabled the Expansion Pak on the VC emulator, the game works with 4 players as intended!

PD: @SuperrSonic , are you there? What are your thoughts about this interesting project?

nice hydro thunder is one of those games that doesnt work on wii64/not64, love having more games working on the wii/wiiu xD

Do you think with this the SM64 multiplayer hack by kaze which requires 8mb of ram would work?

Maybe... I tried several times to inject that hack but it didn't work...

Probably due to the size limit.

it's not of size limit... the hack is only 8 MB or 16 MB of size...
I mean the game won't start when it loads

Then maybe adding the expansion pack will work. Who knows how the heck the VM works?

So i followed your instructions on the OP and i got hydro thunder running with expansion pk injecting on mario golf but i have no sound ... did i do something wrong?

used usa mario golf wad and usa hydro thunder rom and no sound for me, the game runs and plays fine but zero sound.Do you get everything working nicely?

Well... no.

One of the common issues with N64 VC injected WADs are they don't play any sound on the game, even when it's a supported sound compression. Something similar happens to injected S.C.A.R.S. on Mario Golf.

well that takes the enjoyment out of everything lol, just wondering does scars at-least have the fixed color pallet? on wii64/not64 the game has a red ink all over the races does it still have that?

Also without sound is very hard to enjoy a game tbh, atleast on wii and wiiu you can play hydro thunder with sound on nintendont since midway arcade treasures 3 was released for gc and works on nintendont so thats that.

Also i injected wetrix and the sound does indeed play and work long ago on f zero so i never tough most games have no sound when injected, that sucks.

S.C.A.R.S. game works when injected in Mario Golf, there are some minor glitches and the color is correct but there is no sound...

yeah no sound is a big no for me, i just cant enjoy the game imo, still thanks for your work on everything.

i always looking into n64 development for wii/wiiu.
