I can't believe it works....

I dont know how many games for the PS1 features voice acting, but off the top of my head there are Tales of Destiny II (Tales of Eternia in Japan) and Grandia where i would love to see an undub as well (i love the english voice acting in Grandia though).
Here's a list from memory of those with voice acting but no undub;

- Brave Fencer Musashi
- Megaman Legends 1 & 2
- The Misadventures of Tron Bonne
- Lunar 2 Eternal Blue
- Thousand Arms

I would make one but compared to modern games where it's much simpler I don't understand how to even approach it.

okay, if anyone of you guys actually played this game on ps1, i need a save file that's saved on disk 2 (us version) (no matter what it contains)
preferably just a memory card file that i can throw in epsxe since cant be arsed to toy with converters but anything goes.

OP
I found a save file over there at gamefaqs, it ''seems'' like that this was played on a real PS1. I converted it and attached the ePSXe memory card file, i hope it helps.

@Kitsu-neechan

And now?

cant extract it, says it either unsupported format or damaged.
nevermind, apparently my winrar was old, lol.

at any rate, got it working now and it confirmed that the merge-disk does work.
now, since im a lazy mofo, im not going to play through the game to get to the disk change point, but you can start a new game and play all the way through the entire game with the merge disk, never having to change.

2 things to note:

1) the merge disk is VERY large. It's right there on the edge where it fits or doesnt fit a CD-R.
IMGburn does allow it to be burned to a CD without complaining about the size, but that does not mean it's fully up to go. ps1 has a limitation in place which denies it from seeking to the last 30 MB of so of a normal disk. It can read it, but not seek to it.
Now. the last 3 files on the disk in valkyrie profile are 3 FMV's first 10MB in size, second 20MB in size, and 3rd, 30MB in size....

it will be a close call. I will test it eventually when i get to that point playing it.

2) the disk change screen has been (theoretically) patched out. however, again, im not waiting to get there to test it.
The executable in both disks is the same, it's not the executable that matters, but the game data (VP really doesnt respect the ISO9660 disk layout at all and mostly ignores it in favor of using it's own things.) in case the disk change screen still does appear for one reason or another, simply pressing X on it should count as disk changed, since all the game data exists on the disk (tested by starting a new game and then loading up jotunheim palace on the same disk, and seraphic gate, all works, never asks for "disk2")

that will be about it. once i iron out how exactly to release the patch, i will drop it out, give it 2 days most.

@Kitsu-neechan The 1.01 patch will only work with a 1.00 undub iso (not a clean one).

The 1.00 undub iso is nowhere to be found.
The 1.00 undub patch is nowhere to be found.

Sorry but, how are we supposed to use this?

like i wrote in the readme, you will have to patch it over my initial release, mu-lennethundub.iso
the release name was Valkyrie.Profile.Lenneth.USA.UNDUB.PSP-UMD-Mugi

it should be pretty easy to find with a little googling, but since people love to repack the stuff i release and make patches not work, that's really their own headache.
i guess you can thank places like emuparadise for not respecting the original release format for patch incompatibilities. i wash my hands out of that.

I dont understand why people change (repack, rename) the files of the original distribution at all. Just leave it like that and everything is fine.

who knows....

at any rate, since practically every copy of the vp undub that floats around is just my release in one form or another, unless the iso has been messed with, it should have a crc32 of: E1A243C9
cant really help you more than that with it, if the CRC doesnt match, xdelta will propably throw a hissy fit and refuse to patch.

and just for the sake of argument, you're doing the same on your site nico, and since your stuff cant even be downloaded without disabling adblocker as you're attempting to print money out of, amongst other things, my work, you should be really quiet about who you complain about.

You say ''Nico'' but i was the one who complained about the file names and such and not ''NicoBlogs''. I dont have nothing to do with ''Nicoblogs'' though. Just wanted to make it clear.

@Kitsu-neechan is it possible to port the PS1 anime cutscenes to PSP version?

yes, but the ps1 only contains the anime OP and some such, the psp version actually has much more FMV's than that (in the original ps1 version, the cutscenes were done using the in-game engine.)
porting the OP could be done, but aside that, nothing else basically.

Thanks for the undub work. Could someone upload the latest ps1 undub file please. It is nowhere to be found.
