Seriously people, the least you can do is read the first post clearly and make sure you're following the instructions before complaining that something doesn't work.

I believe I have found a bug. If you attempt to browse a directory containing a file whose name contains special characters, the software will crash.
For exemple, if you try to open your roms folder and inside that folder there is a file called
Ace Attorney Investigations 2 (Gyakuten Kenji 2 patché).nds the program will crash. If you rename the file Ace Attorney Investigations 2.nds the program will no longer crash. Note the e acute (é) character. I have not tested this with any other special characters.

Note that the bug isn't that you can't open files with weird names. It's that you can't open folders containing such files. So even if you don't want to play a game with a weird filename, you straight up will not be able to open your roms folder (as long as there is one é character in any of the filenames).

I use it on SX OS flawlessly. No probs at all.

I dont think its a bug but somthing do with alot emulators. Even the 3ds version of ds flashcards and pc apps and such dont like special characters for roms or such.

Also to note if you have a file with special characters the switch wont even detect some of those files. If you want to install a nsp game if it has special characters it wont even detect either in tinfoil, awoo or any installers so its a nswitch issue as well.

it definitely is a bug. It's just that many people including myself still write bad path handling code which can't handle non ASCII characters properly :D

Leaving that aside if everything continues to go this well I have some great news to announce in the next few days.

Hello and thank you for everything! With MelonDS even without oc with jit enabled I can play flawlessly any Pokémon game. There is just something I would like to talk about: when I am into SIZING settings and choose the ONLY TOP option, then press R3 to switch for ONLY BOTTOM and viceversa, the hand (cursor) keeps there. I have tried to put it to the edge of the screen, but it’s still there. Plus when I’m using the console undocked, if I press anywhere on the screen just before pressing R3 to switch my screen, the hand goes away. Please fix just this❤️. There would be other ideas in future, about cheats, about little 3D graphics issue, but really these are small and optional things. Ty very much from everything!

any chance the next version can include the ability to play DS games directly from zip archives. melonDS just added support for this feature

Why does the hand (cursor) keeps on the screen while passing from ONLY BOTTOM to ONLY TOP?

here's what I've been refering to in my last post:
http://melonds.kuribo64.net/comments.php?id=143

the current state on Swtich is the following: it still surprises me how well it runs (the most I've seen was 4-5ms/frame at stock GPU clockspeed). Higher resolution rendering on Switch might even be within reach, though I don't want to promise anything I'm not about. Though fullspeed emulation of the majority of 3D games at stock clock speeds is definitely doable.

Full speed NDS on HOS will be amazing.
