Nintendo unboxes new Switch Lite color, proving whether or not it's blue or purple

There's a new Nintendo Switch Lite color scheme releasing this month, but the actual color itself has been debated as of late. Branded as blue, the Switch Lite has appeared more as a GameCube-colored purple to many, leading to Nintendo publishing their own unboxing video of it to figure out whether it is indeed blue or purple. The latest episode of Nintendo Minute features the hosts showing off the blue Switch Lite, while comparing it to the blue of Mario's overalls and the purple of Waluigi's outfit. Speaking of Waluigi, there's also an amusing, to say the least, official render of everyone's favorite Mario Tennis player featured. If you're interested in judging what color the Switch Lite is for yourself, it'll be launching May 7th in Japan and Europe, while North Americans will get it on May 21st.

Haha. Prerfect :D

On the color:
It's perfect. Everyone can imagine ist being what they want.
Is it the the same violet as the GBA had ? YES
Is it the same color as the GC ? YES

Good thing Nintendo realized it.

thing that annoys me most about nintendo is they keep re releasing the same fucking console but in a different shell/colour so the idiotic fans keep throwing money at them.

i bet if they shat in a box the fanboys would still buy it.

They have been doing this since the funtastic color series with the N64.

They would do something similar with the Wii, but for some reason they took a step back and rarely released consoles with different colors during that time.

Leave it to gamers to call a color, that is, a specific wavelength of visible light, "dumb".
The RGB and HSL values of the new Switch Light model are roughly (70, 90, 190) and (230, 48, 51), respectively. The color of the GBAtemp header has values of (42, 72, 120) and (217, 48, 32), respectively. So yes, the colors have indeed a very similar hue and saturation. They are certainly not "purple" though, as they are much closer to blue than red and if anything would be classified as a shade of violet. The web service Name That Color classifies the new Switch model's color as indigo:

I attached a color comparison of the GameCube, new Switch Light, GBAtemp header, and Game Boy Advance.

Where do you get this from? Like, what is this idea even based on? Do you know a single "fanboy" that bought not one but several Nintendo Switch Lights just because of their different color schemes?

I just buy 3rd party joy con substitutes, such as the HORI split pad pro. they are far better than joy cons, and their only downside is that they do not work disconnected from the console. Which isn't a problem for me anyways.
not sure how that helps with a Switch lite product?
