Looking forward to trying this out. Does anybody have this set up as a wiiflow plugin yet? I was curious what the arguments line should be in the .ini, and also if anyone has created a magic # for it yet.

Yes it's working on Wiiflow (I'm already adding it to Rhapsodii Shima and Plugins Pack).
No particular argument line, not different from the other cores.
Here's my plugin.ini

Thanks for this. I got the 32x plugin working myself via a quick edit of an *.ini plugin I wasn't using, but was hoping you'd post a correct one for future compatibility with your plugin packs, MAGIC number et al. :)

Confession: I've been a MASSIVE LURKER on the Nintendo Wii Discussion forums for just over a year now. All you guys need legitimate medals for the work you've done and continue to do! I've finally registered so hopeful can start chipping in a bit now.

So I tested the Sega 32X CD Set yesterday, here are my results:

UPDATED 05/05

Corpse Killer - Works - Use second controller to play (Thanks niuus).
Fahrenheit - Works - I initially had issues because of a bad dump. Also, load disc 2 to start, then you'll have to swap to disc 1 then back to disc 2 within RA. Disc 2 is the 32X version and it needs a security check with the regular Sega CD version, which is disc 1.
Night Trap - Works.
Slam City with Scottie Pippen - Works.
Supreme Warrior - Works.
Surgical Strike - Works.

Tested and working with Corpse Killer 32X CD, Fahrenheit 32X CD, and Surgical Strike 32X CD. Full speed perfect cheesy FMV goodness.

Did you encounter any problems with Corpse Killer or Fahrenheit?

Thanks @niuus - I'll check those later.

Grabbed the TCP Set of covers and converted them if anyone needs 'em.

I'll post them in the thread later.

Edit: Thanks niuus, second controller worked great for Corpse Killer, and turns out i had a bad dump of Fahrenheit.
Glad it worked out for you.

Wish screenshots worked on the Wii's rgui. I have made a self contained Picodrive emulator and having some would be nice.

How many Games in Total for the 32X

Was it 44?
35 unique 32X games from all regions, plus 6 Sega 32X CD games.

I use 7 prototypes/demo/beta, plus 10 hacks.

I have a Stellar Assault restoration on the same folder, since it has some regional gameplay differences i treat it as another game, that's why it was 35. So for you, it would be 34, yes.

You're kind of obsessed with the 32X full set, aren't you?

Jokes aside, i kinda wish ekeeke would improve the code to make his own fork of 32X emulation for GenesisPlus GX. The sound and gameplay inaccuracies tend to be severe for some games, so if you have been treated with the great emulation that GenPlus provides, you tend to notice the flaws quickly when playing.

Fahrenheit 32X suffers a lot, but at least Surgical Strike 32X runs great.

Eke is a perfectionist. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see him take this as a personal challenge. He is damn good. When he released Sega CD it was outta the blue and 100% flame out of the box.
Yep,i know. I have been a fan of his work for 10+ years. He already spoiled us with the best Genesis platforms emulator on the planet.

I noticed a least several people talking about adding this (32x emulation) to Genesis Plus GX.

Technically something similar has been done before. MD.EMU, which is a port of
Genesis Plus GX for Android (one which eke advises people not to use because it is, I think, GP v1.2a)
had Mega CD/Sega CDemulation added to it from
picodrive instead because the CD emulation in GPGX belongs to eke and
selling this port with eke's code in it would have caused a license violation.

Edit: It was version 1.2a, not 1.3

At least from my part, my suggestion was never "just adding" Picodrive to GenesisPlus GX.

To quote the man himself, when asked by someone if the sloppy NeoGensPlusGX could be used to port 32X to GPGX:
2016: "No, because the "effort" was just incorporating Genesis Plus GX code into their old XBOX Gens port and have 2 emulators in one: basically they just switch between Genesis Plus GX and Gens depending on the ROM type so they still use old Gens code for 32x but nothing has been added or modified in Genesis Plus GX core, these are still 2 separated emulators.

Basically, it's like asking if the fact that Retroarch is able to run genesis plus gx core but also 32X through picodrive core can benefit to genesis plus gx."

And when asked if he would someday do 32X:
2015: "It is possible but needs someone to do it. I personally do not have the motivation to devote my free time on this but code submission are always welcomed.

As for 32x emulation on Wii, it has been discussed many times before but it would require rewriting a lot of the existing emulation code in Genesis Plus GX to at least hope reaching playable speed by making the code optimized specifically for Wii hardware"

2010: "32x hardware would need to be emulated first, which is not an easy task considering everything would need to be done from scratch or quite.

However, I leave this feature open as this project can easily be ported to other platforms as well (including PC) and adding 32x emulation to this project is a nice challenge. Don't expect anything to happen until a very long time though"

And indeed it took 10+ years since that last comment, for someone to be interested in porting Picodrive to Wii.

I don't speak for him but i would say that unless ekeeke does his own implementation or personal version for that code (if he's even interested), there won't be a copy-pasta, which i indeed totally respect as the best solution long-term.
