Just a quick question.
#1 Where are you guys buying your PS5's from because since November they have been very hard to purchase unless you want to spend double
#2 Considering these are selling quickly when to expect a price drop? 2022 or 2023?

I have time but considering my PS4 is 7 years old I'm thinking about keeping it on the same firmware just incase a jailbreak comes out for my firmware. Doesn't make sense to buy one on ebay for $300 used if a PS5 is $500.

I was able to get more than one pretty easily just by following the main "PS5 Drop/Restock" accounts on Twitter and have notifications on. You also have to be at your PC or whatever device you're using the moment you get an alert that stock has dropped. Also be already logged into Walmart, Target, Best Buy, Gamestop. etc ahead of time and have shipping info/payment info already set up. So on and so forth. Follow those steps and you will get a W.

Oh wow sounds like a mission to get a PS5. It just puzzles me where is there a stock issue maybe because of the pandemic

There has been a global chip shortage for the last year that has affected multiple industries. That's why the price of everything is inflated right now.

At the earliest, unless Sony decides it needs to release another model to compete with Xbox, but even then demand might still be high.

Best to wait for model revisions anyway. Mine is currently in for repair for a fan issue. They decided to use like 3 different fan models in the PS5. One makes a loud fluttering sound because it sits crookedly, and others cause coil whine. Wait til they get this garbage straightened out.

PS5 is fastest selling console in U.S. history, so I don't think they'll be dropping prices soon. Maybe never. At this point you're lucky to find one at the $500 they want.

I think late 2022 or early 2023 would be a good time for me since they will have bundles. The $ isn't an issue for me but right now I have a ton of games to play but the PS5 and Series-X is on my radar. I think by that time all the hype will die down and it would be easier to walk into the store and buy one.

Yeah I was going to buy one shortly after launch, they said they're going to available at this certain time on walmart.com I'm there waiting at the exact time and I refresh and they're in stock. I go to add one to my cart, I try to check out but it won't load the page. I keep trying. Keep in mind I have very fast internet and good computer, but keep trying and never works and they removed it from my cart.

As the months have gone on I realize I don't need one because of my gaming PC. I'll wait til the exclusives like God of War are out.
