most Switches are able to hit 1862mhz, even if you have to increase your voltage to 1.2v, which is speculated to be safe.
Power draw is only slightly affected, battery life is also a tiny bit worse than before

On erista ram oc is the safest, the only real risk is a corrupted nand, but just make a backup and youll be fine
Temps with ram aren't too big of a concern unless you really hate your switch and rip out the fan or something
That's cool, good to know. Definitely due a new backup anyway, still got my 'stock' 3.0.2 backup though.

So assuming I compile sys-clk myself and oc the ram, could i gradually go all the way to 2.1ghz if needed? Given you say temps aren't a big issue, am I right that if a clock is safe for docked/charging, then it's safe for handheld too, regarding ram at least. I'm aware that it depends on the chips I have whether I can get more or less out of a ram oc though.

you would also have to patch pvc for that, and some ram chips cant stand 2,1 without overvolting, which ofc comes with its own risks
Ram oc is free real estate, on battery the life may become worse, but on its own its like maybe 5 or 7 mins less on my battery thats 2 steps away from the casket at this point (dont forget libsys minerva has to be patched too)

Just trying to overclock for the first time. I want to overclock SkyNX which streams my PC to Switch. Could someone tell me how to get title id?

Install the Tesla Overlay Menu and then install the Sys Clk Overlay. Or you should already have the Sys Clk manager in HBMenu, so if you overclock a title and use title override and launch SkyNX via HBMenu, then the overclock should carry over if I'm not mistaken.

not sure how many are interested in this, but there is a GitHub page from KazushiMe (not sure if he is on gbatemp) which enables going beyond HOS limits (only for Mariko Units!).
*link not Zachy approved, baka*

As ZachyCatGames points out, this project posts a file that is directly from Nintendo so you can't post that here.

Also everyone who works on overclocking on here is against more extreme overclocks because beginners want to push it to the max and will complain about frying their systems.

Imo the project is interesting and I've been trying it out.

There're also those who would prefer the choice and freedom with their hardware (true to the principles of homebrew), and understand and/or accept the risks. Pushing your hardware to the max is a hobby for some, fulfilling in and of itself.

That's not to sound entitled - people with the knowledge/ability are free to spend their time as they please, but there're those who accept the risks, take harm-reduction measures (e.g. cooling modifications and improvements, plugged into official charger) and would be glad to have the opportunity.

Not everyone is the type to whine on forums if they killed their device.

It would seem to me that Mariko at least should have different limits since its a much different beast. Surely there must be some way to detect which chip is present.
