RuneScape mobile announced for Summer 2021

After a successful period in early access, RuneScape will be joining the ranks of mobile gaming early this summer with a full release on Android and iOS. The mobile port of the twenty-year old MMORPG will include cross platform play available at launch, allowing players to freely switch between a computer and a phone or tablet, and will be available as a free download on the Apple iOS and Google Play app stores. Interested players are able to pre-order the title now, and will contribute to unlocking a series of in-game rewards that will be determined based on the total amount of pre-orders. Some of these rewards include cosmetics such as hairstyles, and a temporary XP boost in game.

oh wait i don't know what the new version of runescape looks like
to be honest all i know about anything related to the runescape name is that there are way better games to play that dont bullshit you

I used to play this game when it first came out. With only four servers. I can't believe it's still around. That was well over a decade ago

the best mobile games:
-are paid upfront with no ads or in apps
-are changed gameplaywise to fit a touch screen better
-support keyboards and controllers
-have a beta program if its on the play store

i dont see any of that happening with this game tbh
imma come fully expecting it to be trash with microtransactions and ads and a subscription service or some shit
i know mmo games usually charge a membership fee but that thinking is outdated now lmao

As much as I hate modern Runescape (oldschool is 10000x better), wut? lol. It's not a "casino" at all.
It has like, thousands of hours of content which is pretty nuts. It has by far the funnest quest system of any MMO where every single quest is a unique storyline and many of them tie together. It's a lot of fun and even the f2p version of the game has quite a lot going for it.
Modern Runescape added some derpy microtransaction things which are annoying for veterans but frankly they don't take away from the fun the game contains if you're someone who enjoys exploring or questing. The world is absolutely massive.

Mate this isn't a mobile game, it's an MMORPG that has been around for like 20 years. They're just porting it TO mobile.

i feel like there gonna change something for the worse when it goes up on mobile app stores
since thats usually what happens

honestly its very uncanny to see people old runescape on their phone
even though the port is fucking spot on as far as i can tell on from like the 40 minutes combined of me watching people play runescape
honestly i trust them even less now because new runescape has microtransaticons apparently
but so does the old one so whatever
