It would be faster for you to just start from scratch and determine your error in the config.

I have been using the Wii U Pro Controller and it works amazing.
seriously either my dol is broken or mappers dont work on wiu if booted through homebrew channel with wiiugamepad support, i download the op files off conf and mapper of xwing and nothing mouse and keyboard work but no buttons on classic controller or wiimote work ingame,gonna try redownload a new dol and after im gonna try on my wii, becuase im guessing its a wiiu issue really unless you confirm your using your wiiu and booting doxbox through a wiiu menu injector?

So something is very off for me both on wii and wiiu i deleted all mapper files and still binding keys and saving is a no go still nothing

also doesnt pressing home on wiimote/cc should bring an overlay while ingame right? this does nothing to me sadly, the only time i see that my wiimotes(tryed old one and new one) do anything is when mapping keys, the pointer and A works fine and i can add a key and save it just fine.

Seriously im been on this for hours today and no changes whatsoever, could be my wii and wiiu bt stack are full and dosbox cant read the latter entrys or something? i know im grasping at straws here but seriously im going insane
down below is my conf and mapper i just saved(doesnt read a thing and appeared on sd card just fine)

my game paths are
sd:dosbox/games/dark/dark.exe and other files

can someone help me out here? i have no idea why this is so hard, last time i mapped and used controllers very easily, all my controllers are official and they work just fine.

@pedro702 it would be pointless for me to upload my wiiflow files... my configuration is just WFL 5.4.9 + Dosbox Wii [1.7x beta r4301 dynrec] + the conf and map files posted here, nothing more. I don't own a Wii-U so I can't say anything about menu injectors, sorry.
Maybe you could check a few things:
- What WFL version are you using? There is an issue with older WFL releases compiled with devkitppc_r35: controllers inputs stop working with Dosbox. It happened to me once.
Use the latest WFL 5.4.9 and you won't have any problems. Remember to overwrite everything, including the folders apps/wiiflow/bins and apps/wiiflow/imgs.
- I remember once I forgot my GC pad plugged in port 1. When I launched some Dosbox games with my conf files, the Wiimote or Classic Controller were not responding.

@niuus Ecstatica is running at playable speed with this configuration:
core=dynamic
cputype=auto
cycles=fixed 14800

you also have to mount the .iso with:
imgmount D usb:/dosbox/games/Ecstatica/ecstatica.iso -t iso (replace with your path)

With cycles 'auto' and 'max' I had worse performances.
On the Wii the frame rate is not perfect but very good, it will take some hits on a couple of scenes but nothing major.
On the Wii-U you could further increase the cycles, probably reaching the full speed.
I will try with Ecstatica 2, even if I know it has higher requirements.
Jazz JackRabbit is running at fullspeed :rofl: except for the intro (that small animation of him wearing different costumes).
Ultima Underworld 2 is also running at full speed and I find it very fun to play with the wiimote.

Sorry I just saw your attached file!
In your conf file there is:
mapperfile=wolf3d.map
It should be:
mapperfile=dark.map

Oh! And Ultima Underworld running at full speed? I am so gonna try it now, i loved that game as a child, evn though i only had the demo that came with my copy of Ultima VII. :lol:

Dosbox Wii all of a sudden started not recognizing any controller input, not even the Home button to access the menu.
This makes no sense, I didn't change anything!! It does this with every game. Until yesterday it was working perfectly.

Weird and funny situation, haven't yet experienced such a thing. You could try testing another small card in which only DOSBox Wii resides to see if you can replicate the conditions that make it stop working. Maybe the joystick setting is being changed hence why it stops working, kinda like the situation with Wiimpathy's mod and the normal2x bug. Surely there must be a rational way to trigger the bug.

I was testing Mortal Kombat Trilogy minutes ago, i mostly just copy-paste other games and change the most basic lines.

Pro tip: i was inspecting pedro config, i can already see that he has a lot of unnecessary stuff on, which means something in there must be triggering the bug. Given the experimental nature of this new build and the fact that it had to be updated to use the newer devkit and libogc libraries, which can unstable in some cases, i see a lot of potential for this kind of stuff to happen. This is one of the most popular reasons for most devs i have seen over the years to stay with specific libraries and not upgrading as soon as newer ones get out.

For example, some games will show specific bugs or won't even run on Snes9x GX when compiled against some devkitPro versions. If i hadn't personally seen such a thing, i probably would have had a hard time believing it. :lol:

I don't know. The weird thing is that controls are not working even if I just normally boot dosbox without launching any conf files.

like i said i used the OP conf even, i used without confs and maps same thing i mapped a key and nothing happened.

I don't know. The weird thing is that controls are not working even if I just normally boot dosbox without launching any conf files.
so its not just me i tryed for hours, i tryed with your congfs, i deleted the boot.dols, i reisntalled everything and such also if you guys didnt notice he made a new rev(still no controls for me tough)

the only way i cant get wiimote to evben do anything is if i point it to the screen on this new rev once pointed to the screen home button work and mouse emulation too, and the A is right mouse click the rest doesnt matter if i map the button to CC or anything ,nothing gets readed ingame for me, the files are created and saved so no idea.

i also tough it was because i was using a micro 32gb sd card i stwitch to a 8 gb only with dosbox and still no dice at all.

If you ever figure this out please let me know, i lost like 4 hours already with no luck at all...

Wow, this new release comes with perfect timing! I will try it in the next hours.
I just noticed one little thing that may be causing the issue: if I starti Dosbox from apps/dosbox-wii, in the root of my SD there's now a DOSBox folder containing a file called Dosbox.conf. If I open this file I can see:
mapperfile = mapper-SVN-r4301.map
but no file with such a name does exist.
This wasn't happening with the old Dosbox Wii.
In the new release Readme file I found this:
The C: drive will automatically be
mounted to sd:/DOSBox/ if loaded from apps/dosbox-wii/. Otherwise, the
directory the dol is loaded from will be mounted as C, and sd:/DOSBox as D
(if present).
[...]
The configuration file is loaded from the directory the dol is located in
(if present) and sd:/DOSBox/dosbox.conf otherwise.
I will try to rename the standard mapper file 'dosbox.map' to 'mapper-SVN-r4301.map' and copy it in the Dosbox folder to see if it fixes things

I'd really like to know what the hell is happening. Why was it working before? It's the first time in my life that a wii app decides to deliberately stop working, with no changes from me. I used it for days, playing and tweaking all my games and not a single time it failed to load the .map files!! The next day it wasn't working anymore, no matter what.

you atleast got it working some time, ever since i got the first download i could never got the mappers loaded lol.

so its a matter of time for niuus too xD
Now you are feeling what i felt, for days trying to map a single key, and you and niuus saying i was doing something wrong. there is probably something on the console itself that triggers this maybe the way some bits are in ram or something who knows.

i reported the issue on github. maybe its our controllers if they do a weird connection we loose mapper loading, or some button combo or hidden setting we trigered by accident who knows.

The Issues section was made for that, though pidro already created the issue there, so just wait a bit. Sadly his report lacks more specificity reporting the bug, but at least he posted a link to this discussion.

This one did not work for me, controls were out. I just went back to Beta 1, everything normal again. Virtual Keyboard, Home Button and button pressings in the menu do work fine in Beta 2, at least.

You certainly have a history of doing that, impossible to think otherwise. :rofl:

there is probably something on the console itself that triggers this maybe the way some bits are in ram or something who knows.

I'm sorry I'm still not familiar with github.
This one did not work for me, controls were out. I just went back to Beta 1, everything normal again. Virtual Keyboard, Home Button and button pressings in the menu do work fine in Beta 2, at least.
I'm somewhat relieved to hear this. At least it means that we can't do anything about it.
@niuus just curious, how do you boot dosbox? Forwarder, Wiiflow plugin, HBC...? and where are your files, SD, USB or mixed setup? I wonder what makes a difference with beta1 between our setups

Well, even though i find WiiFlow super cool, i really don't use it for homebrew at all. I only use it for Wii game loading. You even helped me with a mini setup for WiiSXRX's then new Wiiflow compatibility.

My Wii boots straight to Homebrew Channel since at least 5 or 6 years ago, never use the System Menu these days, unless i am going for a Wiiware game, which i have installed 5 only. SD card 98% of the time, USB only for brief tests between RX emulators releases. One of my 2 flash drives borked months ago (the biggest and most useful one for this) so i stopped doing the ultimate WiiSXRX compatibility list.
