'Apex Legends Mobile' revealed

apex-mobile.jpg

Yet another battle royale game lands on mobile platform and this time it's Apex Legends. Aptly titled Apex Legends Mobile, the title is said to have been "specially designed for touchscreens, with streamlined controls and thoughtful optimizations" that still remains true to the original. The game will roll out with a small series of beta tests in India and the Philippines beginning Spring 2021 on Android devices; with plans to add iOS support and expanding to other regions down the line.

Being designed specially for mobile platforms, Apex Legends Mobile won’t feature cross-play with the console or PC versions of Apex Legends. The mobile version will also be free-to-play and include its own Battle Passes, cosmetic items, and unlockables different than the PC and console versions.

Well, if the Nintendo Switch can run a playable version, I don't think it's that hard to port that version to mobile.

I am curious to see a comparison with the two versions.
The point I was making is that Fortnite runs "ok" on the switch but on modern phones it runs flawlessly. If the same logic is put onto the Switch version of Apex, Apex would run very well on a phone.
I would say that the reason they are making it a completely separate version is the amount of assets and the file size. No one is going to keep a 20 gb game on their phone

Actually, even though the current Smartphones are more powerful than the Switch, the Nintendo Switch version of Fortnite is superior to the Smartphone version in some points, such as in textures and models.

But on the Smartphone you have the option of being able to run at a higher resolution and with a better frame-rate if your smartphone is powerful enough to handle it.

I can't explain exactly why this is, but I find it impressive, recently Epic even managed to improve the version of the Switch even more.

So I can now play Loba twice simultaneously ?
Noice.

Considering the switch being 2015 smartphone hardware, this is not surprising.

It amuses me how I actually like this game.
I blame the epic lore and coop aspect done right.

I mean. wtf. Cool community.

Diseased, rotting platform needs to be put out of its worm-infested, pus-filled misery. Kill it with fire.

Also, battle royale is nothing but another passing trend. It was MMOs, then military FPSs, now BR. It'll shrink soon enough, so don't even bother porting your game to an objectively-inferior and distrusted platform.
