Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

Well this looks fun, I just hope they don't try to cram it into the "universe"....

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is scheduled to be released in the United States on September 3, 2021, as part of Phase Four of the MCU.

SON OF A BITCH.

Oh well.

Never heard of it before.
Editing... far from good but also actually managed to hold a few shots rather than cutting all the time.

Not going to be running to the cinema (or, worse, doing pay per view) but unlike many others I have some minor interest. A Marvel wire fu martial arts film... almost worth it as a curiosity.

Director has not dong anything I have heard of (though usual few indie films that some people liked given a shot type deal), main actor has some minor action and stunts but does not exactly come to us from the tournament circuit or any of the major normal routes we normally see, director of photography (something I tend to note in martial arts films) has a varied career but does include the matrix, various spider man sequels, scott pilgrim vs. the world and baby driver so some skill in there somewhere.

Can't say I'm interested.
This seems particularly bland, and the fact they are trying to shove the Mandarin into this (from what I heard) doesn't really make it any more enticing.

I might pass on it, and just give a glance at the story plot on Wikipedia lol

That water suspended effect was interesting, albeit on a tiny embedded window.

Not sure about hip hop stylings there (can be done and has been done on many occasions but here did nothing*), be curious to see if it was a suspect pick for a trailer or is changed for things in Europe.

*if we are going with the trend of slowed down remixes of classic songs then the king of kung fu probably ought to have had such a song... slowed down remix cover of kung fu fighting would have done so much there.

The mix of within human limits but still insane levels of skill and training (see scaffolding scene) to giant monsters and being thrown through walls and hits from limbs that if they just lightly were allowed to have full weight on you would crush you in seconds makes me pause.

Wonder if we will be shown or be told why sitting with a sniper rifle (or indeed team thereof) some distance away or air strike would not be a useful tactic.

Editing/cinematography was passable enough though which is more than I was expecting at some level. Not particularly sold on the lead as an amazing martial artist/film hard man (that block against the masked guy...) if that is what I have to go by but if it is some kind of refusal of the call/trained to serious levels but left for a normal life and slacked off then could see it working.
