Hi all,
I'm writing this in complete desperation ^^
First things first: I'm using an unpatched Switch, using the latest version of Hekate to boot the latest version of Atmosphere. I'm using emuMMC and that is currently on the latest software (12.0.0)
A few months ago, I've started my third playthrough of Breath of the Wild. A few weeks back, as I just entered Death Mountain's Maw, the game just started lagging pretty badly. I didn't think much of it first but then all of a sudden everything just seemed "empty". No enemies or NPCs were spawning that I know for sure should have been there. After a few minutes in that state the game just crashed. Back in the home menu, I was asked to check the game for corrupted data. The result was that corrupted data had been found and I should re-download the game. So I simply reinstalled the NSPs (base game, updates, DLC) and everything worked flawlessly from that point on.
That is, until yesterday. Yesterday I had that exact same situation in another part of the overworld (Woodland region, near Serenne Stable). Except this time, reinstalling the game did not fix the issue. No matter what I do, as soon as I enter that part of the overworld, everything turns to shit.
The weird thing is, after each crash, I'm asked to check for corrupted data again but it doesn't find any. It takes like five minutes to do that check but it doesn't find any corrupted data and I can boot the game normally afterwards. Except that it obviously still crashes at that part of the map...
I'm using a SanDisk 256GB microSD card that I know is legitimate.
Things I've already tried:
- back up fat32 partition of SD card. Format FAT32 partition, restore backup
- back up emuMMC, format entire SD card, restore emuMMC
When I get home from work today I'll try to create an entirely new emuMMC on a different microSD and install the game there. I don't play any other games on my Switch except Pokémon and botw and I can easily back up those saves beforehand.
Do you think the issue is caused by a partially broken SD Card? Have you ever experienced anything like this?
Any support is honestly greatly appreciated!!
