Hacking Old Banned Switch with SXOS : I want to update it to play on it again

Hi!

Like the title said, I want to update an old switch who has SXOS installed.
I didn't followed the switch scene for a long time now, so I want to know :

1. What is the last switch update I can install without fair of not been able to hack it ?
2. Is SXOS always used ? Do I have to switch CFW ?
3. Is the "freeshop" of the switch dead ? Or is there any other app who do the same job ? (was usefull to mass update games and DLC...)

For point 3, don't link anything, just wanted to know :^)

SX OS support up to firmware 11.0.0, if you go above that firmware you need to use Atmosphere. The only major shop left is Jits.

Do SX OS is dead ? Update not coming anymore ?
I heard Nintendo have done all they can to cancel them.

simply boot sx os and update sx os via the update feature within sx os menu (photo album).

as of now there is no real need to be on firmware 12 so for now your ok to remain on 11.0, but you will have to manually find that fimrware update as the console nintendo will force firmware 12.0 and sx os wont work.

side question ive been meaning to ask.

i have 2 switch consoles, launch using sx dongle to boot sx menu then sx os (or can boot payloads)
sx mariko using sx chip.

if i put the latest atmos onto my launch switch sd, will the dongle still boot so i can load the payloads (i assume sx boot.dat wont work)

no idea how youd go about modchips, would the update then prevent boot.dat on the chip from booting.

we do not know for sure because even after nintendo caught the ring leaders, we still got support for 11.0.

we do know that sx os dont release updates for pointless firmwares that do little, its mainly updated when a firmware comes out that has new keys games require to run, at the moment still not seen anything (tho not played anything new lately) that requires firmware 12.0 to play it (still works on 11.0).

but i think the time will come soon if theyre unable to find a manufacturer/distributor/reseller then if theres no money then they wont work for free.

Considering the arrests against key members and lawsuit on GaryOPA, it would be very surprising for TX to make a resurgence. At the very least, you have nothing to lose by setting up Atmosphere.

I installed SX OS last update and the last supported switch version, and completely forgot about this.
