Yet another PlayStation-exclusive is coming to PCs. After Horizon Zero Dawn, it was announced that the next game from one of Sony's first-party developers coming to PCs would be the post-apocalyptic title from Bend Studio Days Gone. The studio has shared the first gameplay footage of the upcoming version today along with some details:

Days Gone is an open-world action-adventure game set two years after a devastating global pandemic. Play as Deacon St. John, a bounty hunter facing a brutal struggle for survival while searching for a reason to live.

Days Gone's PC version will come with 21:9 ultra-wide monitor support, a "super resolution photo mode" and the ability to use 1st and 3rd party controllers, as well as the classic PC mouse and keyboard combo.

Today's announcement also revealed the launch date of the PC version: May 18. Days Gone is already available for pre-purchase from Steam and Epic Games Store.

Except you're wrong. They are factually NOT zombies. I don't care about an opinion of how any given enemy may or may not look or act like a zombie. Facts are still facts. Opinions are opinions. "Look and act like zombies" is an opinion (and not even an accurate one at that except in the case of looks in Days Gone, but that in itself is merely my opinion). "They are not zombies" is a factual statement. So whatever floats your boat. No point in continuing.
Totally not zombies, we got it

Lol I didn't realize there were that many. I just remember I played the game about a year or two ago when it first came to pc so I may have encountered some bugs that I just can't remember

Me about six months ago and it was fine then, still a better port than Tales of Zestiria

So much of this is just foolish, the guys at digital foundry can test performance for all kinds of platforms and pc configs in a week. Its not as if they are some huge team either. Its amazing how many times digital foundry is the one to reach out and tell publishers what it is wrong, why cant publishers do this on their own? It seems only certain devs do any kind of proper testing. Even on the cpu side for pc, most gamers are using the same few specs and/or slight variants of them.

They can test on whatever platforms they set up. This is not magic. Also you are confusing publishers with developers.

I actually saw a pr guy from control try using the same sort of bs excuse after they obviously didnt test the series s upgrade for control. Im a developer, and Ive done a bit of game development.. the pr excuses they use dont really make a ton of sense... they just need to make their games scalable.. which any game engine worth its salt would aim for anyway so that performance can be tweaked. Its almost as silly as the covid-19 excuse for delaying games, it doesnt take an extra year just because people are working remotely...

You sure don't sound like a developer. And here's the quote from Thomas Puha from Remedy:

Xbox Series S, well, it's no different from the previous generations where the system with the lowest specs does end up dictating a few of the things that you're gonna do, because you're gonna have to run on that system, right? It's very easy to say that you just lower your resolution and texture quality and off you go, it's just nowhere near that simple.

It sounds good when you say it, but every engine is built in a different way. It's another thing when gamers might be like 'This game engine does all of these things!', well, it depends. Are you making an engine that's much more GPU bound or CPU bound? Which are you taxing a whole lot more? Well, we kind of tax both in Control because we have a lot of physics but then we have a lot of the ray tracing effects. That makes a huge, huge difference, especially on Xbox Series S.

Same thing, they have their own engine, Northlight they need to adapt. If everyone tells you that you are wrong, specially the experts on the matter, have you consider that maybe, just maybe, you are in fact wrong.

If you like so much Digital Foundry, maybe you'll enjoy this article by them on how challenging was to port Uncharted to PS4 due to being based on Naughty Dog's own engine.

As for the Covid 19 comment, just show how clueless you are on game development. You think every developer on a AAA company has a capable 3D rendering station at home with promptly remote connection to dev environments?

What is a Zombie in 2021 now is it? are Resident Evil Zombies actual Zombies? what about RE 4 Zombies who even though are referred to as not Zombies by the main character they act pretty much like Zombies. Are the Pop Culture Zombies more or less Zombies than what a voodoo priests would consider a Zombie?

I was somewhat ignorant about days gone before this post, and I liked how it looked so I asked about it and read through the replies, than I came to the conclusion that just like Last of us, this franchise is a Sony zombie franchise and since this is internet a guy got offended, so I changed what I said, now to respect everyone's feelings I can tell that sony have two post not-zombie apocalypse franchises.

They are not undead. They are not zombies. The majority of enemies in the game don't even act anything like typical zombies. Not a zombie story line. Etc, etc. Sorry, but facts. For the record, Days Gone isn't a zombie game either.
From a gameplay perspective, they're indistinguishable from zombies in both titles. From a lore perspective, obviously they're something else. Just depends on what you choose to focus on.
