Gaming Which type of GC Memory Card should I purchase ?

I am using it on a Wii, Should I purchase a cheap one from eBay or should I buy an OEM one ? What are the differences ?

Also, Where do Nintendont saves go ? do they go on the SD or the HDD ?

A Original Nintendo GameCube Memory Card please.

(If you want to have/keep your Game Saves (uncorrupted) a little longer...)

Don't cheap out on those high capacity generic Chinese memory cards. I bought a 128 MB one years ago and it worked for... not very long.

Depends on where your Nintendont is located/installed,in the Folder "saves" on your SD Card or your USB Device.

I've been using two generic 128 MB (16 real Megabytes) for... I think one for 8 years and the other at least 6. They've always worked wonderfully, both with Nintendont and playing the "normal" way.

I haven't noticed any difference in performance with Nintendo's own Memory Cards beyond you know, having a lot more space. It's not like you can get new offical GC Memory Cards nowadays easily, if you're going to get one of those it's going to be used and good luck with that, or pay more than you need if there's unsealed ones out there.

Not directly in NINTENDONT.

You can configure the Path from NINTENDONT in the USBLoader GX Settings,if you use this Loader too.

But it has to be always the Folder "saves" on the Root of the Device you use - no other Folder Name/Path works.

In the link you posted, it reads:

The memory card will be created in /saves/.raw located on the same partition than your game.

So if the game is on HDD, then the saves will also go on the HDD ?

Generic ones are hit and miss. I had 2 generic ones from the same brand (can't remember the name, it was more than 10 years ago), one worked fine for years, the other got corrupted after some time. So you should probably get an original one.

As for Nintendont, I think the saves are stored in the same device that you're running the program from, so if you're running it from an SD card, the saves will be on your SD card

I highly recommend original Nintendo ones. I don't trust in these "generic" memory cards.

Just said @alexander1970, generic memory cards generally have less lifetime than original ones.

A couple of months ago I got a 1019 for $20 from Walmart new.
I've heard that 3rd party ones are not as reliable.
